Thanks for another update Bruce. The rubbish issue reminded me of about 15, or so, years ago on Kuta Beach. Every 25-50 meters were a pair of bins, for plastic and recycle, sponsored by Quicksilver and Coca Cola, along with regular loudspeaker announcements in English and Indonesian, reminding people to use the bins. It sort of worked quite well, but I've no memory of when they were removed. Hope your health is OK. Greetings from Tuban. We're getting a bit more rain lately.

Thanks, Steve. I hadn't heard about the Kuta Beach thing before. I wonder why they gave that up. It is raining here every day. Rainy and windy. Stay safe.

Thanks, Alan. I wonder about the amount. 2 million is a huge amount for locals and tourists both. Yes, I'm staying positive about it. Stay safe.

Thanks, Frankie. I just watched a big flood video in Denpasar yesterday. The rain patterns here always amaze me. We can have a massive downpor at Zoey's school and no rain at all at our house just 1km away. Stay safe.

All Bali needs to do is get Chinese tourists to spend money with local shops and restaurants etc.

Thanks, Badder. It would be a big help to the local economy if the Chinese tourists did more shopping at the local shops and restaurants, indeed. Stay safe.

I do hope you heathr problems can be sorted Bruce. I have faith in doctors here. In fact I was the second foreigner to give birth here in what was then the fledgling Kasih Ibu Hospital in Denpasar in !990

Thanks, Boom. I hope so too. I also have had very good experiences with doctors here. I've been to Kasih Ibu several times. Our kids were all born here in Singaraja either in a hospital or at a bidan's office. Stay safe.

I think they are just jumping on the rubbish bandwagon to try and fill their pockets.

Hi Peter. I find it hard to believe that they will actually charge anyone 2 million. I would guess that it's more of a threat than something they are going to put in to practice. Stay safe.

Saturday I went to a Hospital and have BPJS and it was for a tetanus as I stepped on a nail and the bill was over 400,000.

Hi OO. Did you go directly to the hospital, or get a referral first? We've never paid anything for our medical issues, but we go through the screening first. None of those visits were emergencies, however. Hope you are feeling well. Stay safe.

@@BrucePohlmann well I stepped on a nail which went through my foot so I have my bpjs card and I went directly to A&E on arrival there they told me I would have to go to an office somewhere in the area so I will presume that that's what you're referring to with regard to a referral. However as their offices a picture have strange opening hours one would have thought which may have been my mistake that's stepping on a rusty nail that would have led to a high degree of infection or even sepsis so in the end I just got it done all this flapping about going to an office makes no sense when they could have a staff member that deals with the GPJS based at hospitals.

@@OO-ex5iq Hi OO. I would see the nail situation as something to deal with right away. As I mentioned, we've never done an emergency with BPJS. We use the app and make an appointment with the designated doctor. Tell him what's wrong. If he can treat it, he does. If not, he refers us to a specialist at the hospital of our choice. Stay safe and healthy.

Hi Liz. I don't know about Bandung, but you can get zinc oxide sunscreen on line. It most likely is available in the tourist areas here as well. I don't know about Bandung. I haven't been in Java in years. Take care.
