Thx he is adorable but sometimes also a handful, he is going to go to daycare 2 days a week from March so he can learn the language and start making some friends! The wildlife is amazing, we never thought we would have deer, boar, foxes, ... running through our 'garden' . The rose is starting to come out of hibernation just now.

I just finished this episode, and THAT was some snake!! Haha. Looked like a small python to me. 😱 The taking back of the property from mother nature is hard work, yet very interesting. It was a privilege that you were able to get a little history of the family farm from the previous owners. I am enjoying your videos very much.

A wheel barrow, small cart or small wagon would ease the time and effort of moving and storing your firewood. As each log is cut, it can be placed in the barrow/cart/wagon and then moved elsewhere. The property is really improving!

Lovely chicken coop! Good idea to be close to the house. I remember being a little girl and hearing the chickens at night when a racoon entered. I woke up my Dad and disaster was averted. Good luck!

Excellent cinematography, top notch. Great shots of the snake, a formidable creature, even without fangs. Will help keep rodents away I would think, I don't know if it would tackle a chicken, defer to European experts on that. I also see swifts/swallows swooping around, a good sign.

I’ve only just found & subscribed to your channel & think I shall enjoy it. I notice that the essential elimination of the overgrown vegitaion was an early job. Being so tall the grass etc. Needed the use of a weed eater / strimmer/ whipper snippet/ brush cutter (depending where you come from). I’m wondering if in later videos you will be using a rotary mower to control the height of the grass as it gives in my opinion a smarter look?

Yeah we have deer, wild boar, badgers, foxes, and maney more. We have alot of different birds as well! Which will stay this way as we want it to remain nature for the most part.

I would be scared of the snake. At least it will keep the mice and insects at bay. At least you have running water and electricity. I also follow similar channels from Portugal and water and eletricity is a big problem .

It luckily isn't venomous but for us it was a first as well, we don't have snakes where we lived. Yeah water and electricity is good here, the voltage gets too high from time to time but we have a system in place that takes care of that.

Nature certainly takes over quickly doesn't it? You've made such amazing progress already. I know they have a unique beauty, but I can't stand snakes. Personally, if you can afford it, or have a neighbor with a digger, I'd take down that hill behind the barn at least 8 feet or more. Maybe go back as far as the hedge. Just a suggestion!

We are in the Dordogne and we have one date on the wall above the door and we think it says 1802, we have had a look at old maps and we think the buildings date before that but we can not be sure.

If not, I think it would be nice to talk about the village that welcome you and the people around. The village.... etc... Not just the renovation of the farm.

This is very difficult since location, state etc. matter very much price wise. Best thing to do is scour the internet and start making a mental price of similar properties in the area you want too buy. For example this property near Paris would be 100k more 😄
