Today marks my first week on T. Been following your posts for the past two years. It's been your courage and family/relationship centered post that finally gave me the courage to accept who I am - it was Tiffany's Love and care for you that helped me tell my life partner. Unfortunately - she could not embark with me on this journey and after 6.5 years I'm doing all of this on my own. Your a lucky man Dade. You two are truly an inspiration.

So glad to hear from you and be informed that all went well. DON'T push working too hard and getting too fatiqued. I've had several surgeries of 5+ hours so I can relate in general. Luckily I'm one of those who is not sickened by long periods of being under anethesia, but I vividly remember just how tired I got by even the slightest exertion. I once asked my parents (I was a teen then) to leave the hospital room cause I needed a nap....just exhausted from talking to them. Oh, if you need dental work in the next three months, you'll find that standard dental anesthetic will have NO effect. Anesthesiologist told me it is a well documented phenom. I am so glad things have gone well for and pray this wellness continues. You are so courageous to share this journey with us. It is helping me to understand just what my son needs to go through during his transition. He is starting testosterone soon and I never really thought about voice changes and a beard. Dade, I can't tell you how much your videos have meant to me. I am not trans, but I am touched by what you and your wife have gone through. I am a bi/pan /whatever woman married to the same woman for 18 years. The first video I saw of yours was the one set to that awesome music and it showed your transition on T alone. I was floored! From surgeries I've had (not of a sexual nature) the surgeon explained that it may take several days while the body gathers all the healing necessities to the surgery site but then you'll be surprised how quickly the body "does its thing" in the healing process. Skye Taylor I'm sorry, my friend. Sometimes these recoveries take a long time. Top surgery you have to deal with so much nerve regeneration that I can understand why you would still have discomfort. I do too.

In Brazil, this surgery is still considered "experimental procedure" and to have the surgery paid by the public health system (SUS), you've got to subscribe in a very slow and decadent process of waiting lists and psychiatrists. I still don't know about doctors who do it in the private service, and if they do, it must cost a life. I intend to have the same surgery you had, hopefully more research on that field will be done throughout the years. Thanks, Dade.
