My experience so far with lower surgery. I had a metoidioplasty, scrotoplasty, urethral hook-up, and vaginectomy with Dr. Curtis Crane.

Today marks my first week on T. Been following your posts for the past two years. So glad to hear from you and be informed that all went well. DON'T push working too hard and getting too fatiqued. I've had several surgeries of 5+ hours so I can relate in general. Luckily I'm one of those who is not sickened by long periods of being under anethesia, but I vividly remember just how tired I got by even the slightest exertion. I once asked my parents (I was a teen then) to leave the hospital room cause I needed a nap....just exhausted from talking to them. Oh, if you need dental work in the next three months, you'll find that standard dental anesthetic will have NO effect. Anesthesiologist told me it is a well documented phenom. I am so glad things have gone well for and pray this wellness continues. You are so courageous to share this journey with us. It is helping me to understand just what my son needs to go through during his transition. He is starting testosterone soon and I never really thought about voice changes and a beard. I appreciate you telling all these things no matter how common sense they should be. Now with the very serious surgeries one must endure there is no doubt in my mind of the courage and strength transgendered individuals have. From surgeries I've had (not of a sexual nature) the surgeon explained that it may take several days while the body gathers all the healing necessities to the surgery site but then you'll be surprised how quickly the body "does its thing" in the healing process. I can see on your face how good you are feeling right now . I'm happy for your happiness. Watch out the healing. I mean. You are human. Let it go as fast as it goes. Do not force the body to go on. It's recovering. I believe your coworker and costumer will understand the recovering process that u r passing through. Take it easy. Help the body drinking natural juices. (No milk & no sugar) Specially those fruits full of collagen and elastin. That will speed up naturally the wound healing. In case you don't know the human body takes twelve months to fully heal a wound. Watch out 👍👍

When I woke up from my 5 hour top surgery, I felt like I had just been brought back from the dead! It was a really unpleasant recovery, and I still have excruciating electro-shock pain in my chest sometimes, 9 months later...

Skye Taylor I'm sorry, my friend. Sometimes these recoveries take a long time. Top surgery you have to deal with so much nerve regeneration that I can understand why you would still have discomfort. I do too.
