there are theories that in the future we will be able to transfer our conscience from one body to another so we'll basically be androids. sucks that if that happens it's too far into the future for us to live but at least future trans ppl will get easier access.
@mslightbulb4 жыл бұрын
That would be very cool for a lot of people with genetic chronic diseases, like I could switch my articulations for android ones. That would be awesome. But, trans people would be so happy. This would be such a huge thing for them more than just “oh, my body works better now” to “I’m completely happy and feel comfortable on the inside and outside thanks to this”.

Thanks for the video! This week, my daughter’s friend, who is an FTM, spent the night in our home because his mother has threatened to kick him out and has repeatedly made anti-trans comments. He was a perfect houseguest, but I’m very concerned about him and all the trans teens in quarantine in my state of Alabama, which is traditionally anti-LGBT. (I am a Catholic, but I see NO scriptural basis for anti-LGBT discrimination, period.)

Even though I’m a cis woman, I had surgery on my genitals. The surgery wasn’t much and the Dr said it was the easiest surgery she’s done. So my surgery isn’t really equivalent. But my reaction after the surgery was the same. Did I make the right decision? When I first touched myself for the first time since the surgery, I cried and was scared of what happened. When our body goes through surgery, the brain needs to re-adjust. Of course the pain feels like it won’t go away and it’s very understandable to feel short term regrets. A couple days after my surgery, I felt freed and my life was much easier. Glad you feel the same about your surgery and happy that you’re happy. You are so strong and awesome.

I'm 3 years on T, one year post top surgery. When i first started T, my doctor said "dont even think about lower surgery". I'm australian and we dont have any surgeons who offer phallo or meta here. I cant afford to fly to another country and pay out of pocket for lower surgery. At first i was fine with not getting surgery but at this point its getting difficult. I wish i could have access to surgery. Meta sounds amazing, i feel like it would help me so much.
@calamityjean15252 жыл бұрын
I'm amazed that there aren't ANY surgeons that will do lower surgery in all of Australia. How difficult is it for a doctor from another English-speaking country to get licensed to practice in Australia? I'm thinking this is a great opportunity for a doctor from the UK, Canada, or even the US or South Africa to come to Australia and set him/herself up doing lower surgery for every transman who wants it. The surgeon would be busy for half of forever!

I want to get metoidioplasty but I think I need to find more support in my life before I go through a surgery like that. Plus I just had top surgery 6 months ago lol. It was really hard to go through while living with my parents who are against me being transgender and against me getting treatment. It made it so much scarier and made recovery so much harder. It was like I didn't want my parents to see me in pain because I felt like they were saying "See, I told you this was a bad thing." Even though they didn't see how much it was going to improve my quality of life. It was a huge stress relief to finally feel like that part of my body was more authentically me. Probably the best decision I've made in my life so far. It just sucks that I didn't have support at home. My brother is supportive, but there's just nothing in the world that can replace a parent's love and support. It gets better and you can eventually heal but it's hard. I have to be my own parent and give myself the love I was missing. I just really wish I had a life partner so I could feel supported and loved by someone who I live with. It would just feel a lot less alone. I do have a best friend, who is almost on the same level as a life partner, but platonic. It's just not quite the same though. I dunno, I just want to have someone around me.

I saw you on OT's video's. Had a feeling you might be gay, but it never crossed my mind that you were trans. But then, I never questioned it either. I really don't care that much "what" people are. They're just people, and I like seeing them happy. When I was young I always was one of the girls. But brought up like a boy. It was unheard of to change that. My mother supported it, but society didn't. About 5 years ago I came out as NB. Probably would be trans is I was still young, but I'm too old to change anything. Even when my body grosses me out. It's always interesting to hear from trans people how they experienced everything. What choices they made and why. From what I heard from friends, and now from you, bottom surgery would not be worth it to me. The entire thing would be too much for the little bit of positive change I would have. And I'm okay with that. Me being grossed out by a male body has other reasons, that I won't go in to here. Thank you for sharing your experience! It really helps to get a clear idea what to expect for anyone considering transitioning!

I don’t know if you’ll see this but you’re brilliant. I just love how open you are about your life. The world needs that. We all need that. We all need to be more open with each other, because that kind of communication could save lives. I do admit I have always had questions about transitioning that I was afraid to ask because I don’t want to offend anyone and you just put it all out there for us and it’s wonderful. If you do see this I have a question. I have a friend who is about a year into transitioning and she’s doing amazing, but I’m sure she needs support in ways I don’t know. When you were a year into transitioning what kind of support from friends do you wish you had more of?

Gender confusion must be unthinkable. I personally believe that everything, both biological and not, were designed by a brilliant Designer. Simply look at the complexity involved in living organisms. To be confused about the way you were made has to be indescribable. We need more studies on this topic to determine the psychological aspects. The mind is more complex than the body, but if it's a mind issue and can be resolved, the body can remain intact. ❤

I never plan to have bottom surgery, but I’m watching the video so I know how to support any friends I may have in the future who may have, or just in case I decide to have it

There are many reasons why I want Meta, but another super huge plus is that you can still get Phalloplasty after Meta! So if you feel later on in life that your size does matter you still have future options.

Thanks for sharing 😊.... I'm trying to figure out which surgery I want to do...I have time to figure it out because I just started my testosterone and had top surgery in September of 2019... waiting to see how much growth I get and debating on if I should do it at all due to my age...

Bottom surgery was the first surgery I wanted to get. But obviously we don't get a say in how our bodies get to be corrected through insurance. I got denied for the 3rd time for Top surgery because I wasn't on testosterone for a year. Even though my non-binary friend with the same insurance got approved on the first try when they have only been on testosterone for 4 months. Picking favorites I guess. Hopefully I'll be approved in June, its just a shame how far down I have fallen on the waitlist. You really hit a low point when you start to think things will never change or get better :l

I had a chat with a trans friend who was happy to talk about his surgery, I feel I will be way more informed the next time I chat to him because OMG I feel like every question I asked was super dumb

Lol, I wanna transition, but I really don’t want it to be small. I want it to be at least medium, but I also wanna feel it. Anyone else feel like this?

Maybe the technology will advance and let this be an option
