I am too old to travel anymore, so I really enjoy 'riding along' with you. Your camera work and editing are fantastic and your choice of music is great. I'm sure that is a stressful job, but you make navigating that big rig look seemingly easy and simple. Thank you for sharing.

Having a good rear escort makes hauling 13 and 19 axle traffic easy. (IMHO) If your routing includes Impossible turns, call a crane and chill. I worked with an ex lady bullhauler as my rear escort. One day during a coffee break, she felt disrespected by the waitress, She superglued her cups, glasses, plates, silverware, and even the tip to our table top. You gotta watch who is covering your rear!

Just stumbled on your video, really enjoyed it. Am retired but drove truck for many years. Alway enjoyed deck work and over dimensional loads as anyone can pull a van. Tying down and tarping loads keep you in shape and you end up hauling to some interesting places. Last heavy haul truck I had was a Western Star with. Cummins Signature 600 engine. Truck was nice and quiet and a pleasure to drive. Thanks for sharing, brought back some good memories. Cheers my friend.

I don't think many people realize that what you started-out with is not how you end up due to different conditions in different states. Take a jeep off, change the axles on a jeep, add a stinger, flip an axle, change everything except the cargo. LOL Great job as always.

Greetings from Maine. I feel like we are almost neighbors. All of my over width driving has been in the military. My first annual training with the national guard was at camp gagetown in New Brunswick. My crane was 12 feet wide. Thankfully I noticed a canadian trucker with a red and white sign with a D in the middle. Had to make my own. Our visit to your wonderful country was great ! Canadian forces treated us very well. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there !

Just found this video, and Holy Hell! When you crossed in to Pennsylvania on US Rt. 11 and went through the small town of New Milford you were within a block of my house! Then you made the swing on to PA Rt. 706 and up Summit Hill to Montrose. I know that road well, in fact I learned to drive on that road. And when you went through Montrose and around that curve on the west side of town, just before the cemetery, I held my breath. That's a nasty curve with a car, never mind an over-sized load. If I had known you were coming, I would have gone over to Main street and given you a high-five as you went through town. And wished I was about 50 years younger and sitting where you were! What a way to make a living.

Looked like a tight gate leaving the plant. I was a volunteer "guide" for a JD combine from Vandalia, IL up thru IL and over to the Iowa border. The gate was tight but if I had swung a little wider the angle would’ve been better. Let’s just say I didn’t help myself 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’ve been doing this for a while so some of the excitement is gone. There are a lot of KZbin channels similar to yours, but yours is my go to channel for OD, OS, and OW loads, a couple times back in 2015 and 2016 I tried applying to ATS Over Dimensional, spotless driving record, had been in a truck since 1977, had moved OD, OW for the carnival business for 8 years, my load was a portable carnival ride base that was both OD, and OW, but ATS said I didn't have enough experience, s0 in 2018 I retired. Good day- This one was really cool because as I mentioned in a previous post I was domiciled out of Keen, Savannah. When you went thru the US 84/US 301 intersection in Ludowici, GA you were 8 mi. from my house, north, off of 301. Drove past that plant for various reasons for years. I was going to ask for the length of the trailer because that thing cheated to the inside in a turn so badly. When you said 60', then I knew because the 4 axle that I was married to was 65'. with a 35' beam deck. I had to flip the 4th axle and chain the 3rd up to be legal in the Northeast when I was empty. Drive safe. Have a good day.

@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 I should have said "lived" in the house. We moved to West Lafayette, IN in 2014. If you or your dad come to the CAT Generator plant yard in Lafayette to load out give me a shout and I'll come by and introduce myself. When your camera at the back of the sleeper turned down just as you crossed the tracks on 84 just before the plant it reminded me of 2 things. The sad one was east of those tracks that you crossed it narrows down to one track and crosses over a very skinny bridge. There was a film crew on that bridge doing filming for some documentary and didn't hear the train coming and ended up killing 3 people. The hilarious one was when the wife and I were waiting at those tracks with the cross bars down. Someone ahead of of us got tired of waiting and jumped out and went around the bars. But they didn't notice the the first car on the other side was a marked GSP trooper. BUSTED!! They didn't make it a hundred ft. after the cross bars. Have a good one.

Doug I'm going to tell you straight up. I honestly wish you knew the amount of guys that laughed at me for the amount of tarps I kept with me so I could double tarp. A lot of my loads were specialized fragile oversize where it could sometimes take up to 8 hrs + to prep and tarp a load. It was this way because the companies I worked for and companies we hauled for said there was no help. Made for a long day sometimes, but I was very particular how I did my job!

@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Жыл бұрын
I only run about 14,000 on my steering. This is not a true heavy haul truck. It is more like a medium duty. It’s a compromise that can be dispatched on heavy loads but also the truck is still light enough to haul legal loads from time to time.

How much does the "pin on" axle change the turning radius? I understand you use the equipment necessary to meet the weight \ axle requirements, but is switching to the pin on axle more of a permit cost savings (short length, fewer axles) or is it easier to drive? You certainly make handling the jeep look easy. Nice that you got to go fishing. A lot of work goes into these videos, Thanks.

It is a steep learning curve. The office is there as a back up. If I’m not sure about something I can always make a phone call but it’s up to the driver to know the regulations. That’s why they start drivers on smaller oversize loads. To focus on reading permits and learning the basic regulations before they get doing the big loads. @scottreed5460 was only 44,000 lbs. the trailer used is called a mini deck. It’s low to the ground and perfect for reducing the overall height but the disadvantage it is very heavy so you require an extra axle on the truck to support the overall weight.

Red Lights don't apply to you? That one at 28.30 didn't even qualify as a good rolling stop! You totally ignored it!
