I was out for Songkran a number of years ago and as April is very hot I used to duck in to an air conditioned bar for a couple of hours in the heat of the day. (Classroom 2). The girls realised I was just there for a quiet drink so would chat to me for a bit if they didn't have any customers and I would buy the odd lady drink. One of the girls told me she had been in Pattaya for 2 years and had 3 'boyfriends' back in the UK, one sent her £300 a month and the others sent £200. She was having a house custom built back in Udon Thani for her and the family and she intended to do another couple of years before retiring with enough money to see her through to old age. I asked what would happen if two of them were out at the same time, her response was , "Don't say that , it not happen', obviously made her nervous thinking about it! I was back out in November on a fishing holiday and spent a number of evenings in the bars, the latest story is that the girl had a European partner but they were back home when Covid hit and passed away leaving no money so the girl had to come back and work in the bars which they didn't really want to do, heard that one three times

When I was there I found that many bar girls liked younger guys because they liked to go out and have fun but they generally only chose younger guys when they were already "taken care of". One of the most telling things I ever saw was a young guy watch his "girlfriend" go off to Hua Hin with a foreigner who had been sending her money. His jaw pretty much dropped when she told him that he could start giving her a monthly salary or she'd have to go with the other guy. The biggest lie I ever heard was, well, all of them. It's all about the dough you're about to transfer. I did have an interesting interaction with a lady I met when I was younger, who propositioned me right in front of the guy she was with at the time. If I offered her more, she would ditch the current guy. I felt sorry for the guy, who looked awkward as hell, having to hear that. At that point, I realised the game is ruthless.

It has been a long time since I was there and other far East Countries. But thought I would add this for people that might not know. The drinks I would buy a girl was Tea, with a little bourbon on the top. The bourbon floats on the top so when the tourist samples the drink, he taste the booze and drinks it off the top. This is why girls can drink all those drinks all night without getting drunk. If the girl does drink the booze off the top then it isn't very much. This is okay as you do get to sit with her and chat, but thought guys should know. I'm sure this still goes on.

I've never been to Thailand, but can't wait to go (if it ever opens up again!). I've pursued "fun and games" off and on for 12 years in Costa Rica. It's absolutely amazing that every trick the girls in Thailand play to milk a guy are virtually identical to the ones I see in Costa Rica. Since they don't have water buffaloes there to get sick, it's usually my mom or dad, or brother who is terminally ill needs your help desperately. I just never understood how so many valid intelligent guys are incapable of blowing off a request for money, beyond that which is earned for services. I don't argue; I just smile and say, "as long as you're with me I will be give you the money you have deserve, but that's as far as it goes". It's worked for me so far. PS. I once got the "you han-som man" bit going through airport security in Cambodia. The 'prefer older guy' thing may not necessarily be untrue. I was once in Macao, in what I though was a regular (but pretty dead) bar, and got approached by one of a group of girls there that I'd realised were there in a professional rather than social capacity. I made it clear that I wasn't there for that reason, but said if I bought the beers, we could chat until some customers turned up. We talked a lot, and while there certainly things said that had a whiff of fishing about them, on the older guys thing, her comment was that older guy generally were more respectful, while the younger guys often wanted to recreate the hardcore porn they were used to watching, and would often be rough as a result. She did say that you really can't tell what people are going to be like back in the hotel room though, and can often be surprised.

Who said she was half of my age she could have been 50 for all know... yes of course I'm not an idiot I don't expect it to be cheap in a go-go bar but on the other hand I would never accept being taken for a mug and scammed and just accepting it simply because I'm in Thailand as I mentioned in the upload I didn't accept it we told them we wouldn't pay it they tried to use the guilt factor by saying the girl would have to pay it I said that's fine give her the bill and we left... of course that was BS to try and get the sympathy vote thinking we would pay it to save the girl a lot of guys would have but I'm not an idiot
