I love this so much I had to run in the bathroom and try it!! Just with hair bands, scrunchies, and bobby pins. It was sloppy and fell down but looked beautiful for a moment. I’ll have to get better hair pieces and try again. Thank you so much for the tutorial! 💖

So pretty! I always wanted to wear Nihongsmi but my hair is too short, so I ordered a front lace wig two years ago and watched a lot of Japanese Nihongami tutorials and styled my own Katsura with whatever I could get my hands on. 😂 I would wear it then for our local Koto performances when wearing Houmongi Kimono. ❤ It was very difficult but every time I felt so pretty.

It looks gorgeous but also impossible for someone with shorter hair. Also, I can't imagine spending a whole 15-20 minutes for my hair for any occasion 😅 a quick towel dry with brushing is as fancy as I get with my hair.

I'm very curious about the metal tool attached to your table that you're using to sew. What is its purpose? I used to do European medieval re-enacting and I hand-sewed my clothes, but have never seen a tool like that before. Use a chopstick to help you turn your fabric faster. Even here, a chopstick is a favorite fabric turner! (You can use the blunt end if you're afraid of poking through delicate fabric, but the pointed it works well for pushing out square corners.) I used to teach 14th century hairdressing and would wear my hair in that style at events. Your hairstyles are very beautiful, but I know from experience that I don't envy you taking it all down at night!
