You just have to do one side and that's it.

@@ATEMOFFROAD I mean you just try it. Just disconnect one side and the sway bar is already disabled and drive it. It would have no difference in driving if you disconnect one or two links. More convenient and easier too.

@@officialWWM in theory no. The sway bar just connects both sides. Only restriction you would get is from the sway bar bushes

@@officialWWM Correct. No resistance with one connected. It's a twist spring (the anti sway bar). It's only a spring when it's twisted.

Thank you for posting this. I was going to pay someone over $200 to put in quick disconnect sway bars and I don't even need these with this mod! Love it. If I am not going off roading for a bit, I can put the originals back on, but this is a great mod for a quick disconnect when you get to the trail!

Oh yeah jeep add ons can get expensive really really fast! Honestly I found this out by a subscriber that you only need to disconnect one side ! And it works great because I’ve tried it! So that may save you too , thanks for watching! Cheers

I've never heard of disconnecting for a bumpy ride. It probably helps a bit, but the main reason to do it is for added flex and traction. Also it should be done with caution, if you've never tested your flex, the first time could cause rubbing of tires, damaged break lines, shocks, track bar bushings, drag link ends.... you need to know your bump stops are adequate, brake lines are long enough, shocks have enough travel ect. before you just take off down the trail. Also because those pins don't squeeze down on the sway bar bushings and links, they can wiggle, loosen, damage themselves and the bushing, and wallow out the bolt holes. It's a cheap and easy solution, but it can cause serious problems if you're not careful. Some cheap purpose built quick disconnect links prevent not all but some of these problems... install is almost as easy, and they are almost as cheap. The real trick is carefully testing it for potential problems before they become real problems.

These are all great things to consider Dan especially bump stops and tire rub, good points. When I disconnect it’s usually just one side now I leave the other side bolted! My 2015 rubicon jku has a push button sway bar disconnect much more convenient! I disconnect it , whenever I can even on fire trails that seam flat, really does help the ride quality! I just use trailer coupler safety pins, like 2.50 at Walmart. Takes 5 seconds to unhook 👍

That’s what I’m saying, I can easily put that towards something more productive, the anti rock sway bar is great I agree, but cmon I can have one side disconnected and ready to go hard wheeling super quick! So yeah if your spending 200 on jks disconnects may want to spend the 150 more and get the antirock🤣. I just prefer the 20 dollar round and you only need to disconnect one side ! you don't really need the washer that fell on the ground. without it you might reach the inner hole for you pin. less rattle then.

So mine has a welded collar on that bolt where the sway bar link rides on that bolt. The only way I can see to get it of is to cut the bolt off. My driver side link will not budge off of that bolt either. I've tried prying, and pulling with a wire and using my breaker bar as a lever. Any suggestions?

You will only need to do one side , but if you do make sure that when you tie up the link to the sway bar it’s not connected to the jeep that side you choose will be floating. As far a removal goes heat and a hammer will always be your best friend , just make sure they haven’t welded it to the mount on the axle side!

No I added another washer also , a subscriber on this channel recently told me to try and leave one side bolted and disconnect only one side , I tried it an bam it works great , you really only need to do one side with the quick pin! Thanks for watching

Do not ever put cheap disconnect pin from Amazon or eBay. They will cause major issues. Any loose parts cause vibration in front end. It will effect bushings and cause bump steer and death wobble. It’s a good video and jks makes good parts , but for the cost I’m still not sold on them, i disagree with your claim of costing you alot of money in repairs including death wobble , these pins work fine if properly installed, always stack washers if the busing is loose. you most likely lost the metal sleeve in your rubber bushing causing looseness and premature failure. Nothing is better than stock, the pin merely replace a bolt and nut. Cmon man ! I’ve been running these for awhile now no problems

They do add an additional washer. That’s what i did. Also you only need to do one side. You can leave the bolt in the other side
