Watching this video, you can see there is no secret why Jocko has become an influential and well respected man throughout the world via his books and podcasts. He is an excellent teacher. As the saying goes- if you have a higher knowledge of a subject, you can teach it well. I feel that if all men strived towards achieving excellence in their fields and then saw the benefits of passing that knowledge on, we would have a vastly improved world with every day.
@rykehuss34354 жыл бұрын
"- if you have a higher knowledge of a subject, you can teach it well" Wrong, totally wrong. Just because you know a lot about something doesnt mean youre going to be a great teacher. Teaching is a skill (that you must practice), not something you just can do well naturally as your knowledge increases.
@austinpowersfasha88782 жыл бұрын
@@rykehuss3435 his point is that if we all strived towards it, the world would be a better place. There are definitely people who aren’t good teachers but you can still learn a few things from someone with more experience than you.

I highly recommend attending a seminar with Dean if you have the opportunity. It will help fossilize any of his technique that you may have learned from a video or from another source. I learned this exact foot lock from one of Dean's older DVD videos, practiced it, and even taught it. By attending this class AFTER I thought I already knew the technique fixed problems I was having and helped me lock it in (pun intended). Thank you @Lister Dean for teaching us not to ignore 50% of the body:)

Dean fights on such a full spectrum dominance level, even in the fog of combat, thinking seemingly several moves ahead on positioning locks, that his nickname should be Dean "Check Mate" Lister or Dean "OODA LOOP Assailant" Lister. What a delight to watch Dean conduct his mental and physical chess game on the octagon board. Bravo for the visual treats in this video, and the glimpse of a true professional at his craft. It's Dean's world when he enters the octagon and the opponents, though professionals themselves, often just look like pawns on the octagon game board.
