@@geraldharpe4096 Been playin for 25ish years and my advice with strumming for new players is be confidant, don't be afraid to make a noise. A loose wrist and elbow is also very important take time to figure out the correct amount of pressure to hold your pick between your fingers. I also recommend learning full songs not just bits and pieces. Enjoy your journey man.

I would say concentrate more on strumming than picking when your starting out been playing about 40+ years but what do I know haha😂

I've been going overboard on chords, learning E's and G's and A's and D's, but I never felt like I was actually making music. I know it's important to get the building blocks solid, but being able to throw in something like this every now and again is not only fun, but it helps with early motivation. Small wins that make you feel like you're making great strides, especially if you can later combine it with the fundamentals. I'll get there eventually, it's just easy to get demoralised - but from what I understand, there's not a single guitar player alive that hasn't been where I was.

slow everything down to a crawl. start without rhythm, just get the notes down for one bar and then try with a metronome at like 80 bpm. the important thing is to always take it slow enough to not make mistakes. speeding up is easy once you have a pattern down but you need to do everything good and not rushing. of course you can't play these riffs at full speed on sight on your first try.
@KevinBalke
@KevinBalke Жыл бұрын
Exactly what @salty_3k506 said. These riffs are very beginner friendly, but you still need to slow them down and learn the pattern first. Even advanced players can rarely skip that first step.
@salty_3k506
@salty_3k506 Жыл бұрын
@@KevinBalke only when you're at a really high level but even though most people need to slow down, only the best players can just copy a riff at full speed on sight and slowing down and then speeding up often takes less time than you think so if you slow down first and then speed up when you can play it well at the slower speed, it shouldn't even take that long but never play sloppy, it just slows the process down.

I play a hand full of these riffs almost every day. Some are harder than others, but it is so satisfying to improve on the harder ones. Me, a complete begginer att it for about a month, to slide up and down the neck for the sweater song more smoothly is great. i still cant play it at the normal tempo, and sometimes mute notes when i dont mean to but a little progress is great.

Other than that, good list, props for including some songs not commonly found on videos like these rather than the same ones over and over again, i.e. Boys Don't Cry, All These Things That I've Done

I've started two days ago, which I think qualifies me as 'absolute beginner'. I'm working on getting the A and D chords now, which is already challenging enough to my 46 year old fingers... This all sounds and looks like it takes a whole lot of practice and at least have way better understanding of the basics. I will revisit stuff like this in a year or so...

beginners I first started playing guitar . In the 1990s I was a teenager and at first I've planned and I had a lot of trouble my brother Mike picked up the guitar he was Younger than me by 10 months so really Was not coolpeople were like you're a little brother is a better Guitar player than you. But I thought it was really difficult and then I looked at my cousin who really sucked and he was playing some complicated stuff and I thought man if you could do it I must be able to do it and I sat down and I really spent some time working at it just loading tablets or using tablets or now you guys have KZbin man I wish we had KZbin I spent so much money on guitar world and guitar ,player, magazines ,guitar one, Bass player magazine.. And then I buy tablet books for a lot of different bands a lot of different people everything from Damage plan Guns & Roses. I had all the Alice in Change albums and Guitar Tableture book for each. . Any of you people can learn tablets or in like 1 minute. It shows you the 6 lines representing the 6 strings 0 is just open and then I'll obviously 12345. It's Each Guitar fret as you go up. When it shows you like how many calms to hit each strain you know which 1's to hit for cord and it's really self-explanatory it's easy to learnyou got a million free videos on KZbin competing with each other and also there's a lot of lessons on here it's really mind-blowing I spent all that money on so many books back in the day and my family ended up letting them get wrecked by letting cats p*** on them and or putting them in another room where The roof leaked. Done with a massive rare Kind of book collection because I worked at the time of bookshop and I had all sorts of rare kind of books in there rare back issues with money were handed to me. Including like The first X men with Gambit and a whole bunch of rare collectors special things like the phalanx covenant in special chromium covers. I'm not ADC fan usually but I had the death of Superman a few other things like that the return of Superman. But really I wanted I had almost all of the Lobo books. Even Jace mamoa dot for sure he was gonna get offered the part of robo when he was called in by Zach Schneider for Justice League. Hes the ultimate dude bro man!
