Welcome to this "20 Min Yoga for Flexible Legs" class designed to improve your leg flexibility - you'll feel the difference after doing this class just 1 time :). This is perfect for yogis with some experience, but beginner yogis are very welcome here, just listen to your body. This session moves us through a slow flow with longer holds and a deep focus on the breath. These techniques are highly effective for increasing flexibility, building a bit of strength, and calming the nervous system.
ANATOMY OF THIS CLASS
This practice delves deep into leg flexibility and hip mobility, which are crucial for overall body wellness. Tight hips and legs can indirectly affect your back, shoulders, and neck, so this class not only enhances your flexibility but also provides relief for those areas. For example, hip openers target the hip flexors and rotators, often tight from prolonged sitting, helping to release tension and improve hip mobility.
In this leg yoga class, we’ll practice poses like Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (Pigeon Pose), which lengthens the gluteal muscles and the piriformis. This can help relieve lower back pain and sciatica. By stretching these and the surrounding muscles, we reduce tension and increase the range of motion.
