I was stationed on Okinawa in the '80s and there was a restaurant that made it differently. They cut the chicken in small pieces, dredged them in flour, then fried. After the chicken was done they removed from the wok. Next they stir fried cabbage and onions. When the cabbage and onions were close to cooked they added the sauce the chicken back, then the eggs. I just made this yesterday for dinner.

I was living in Okinawa, Japan. There's one dish that I loved. It had baddered fried pork chop set aside. Not sure what was in the wok soy sauce? green leaf vegetable maby baby Spinach Shredded Carrot (not shur) drop one egg. Pick up pork chop and put it on the rice. Scoop up the vegetables place over the pork chop. maby you could help me to find the recipes

I just made this for lunch for my husband and I. We give it a 5 stars and super easy. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to cook the fried chicken on top of the egg/sauce mixture because the pot I used to make the egg/sauce topping was too small for the humongous Costco chicken breast I used. 😅. But still…. Delicious!

Hey Aaron! I really like Katsudon and Oyakodon, but I don't like onions as a main vegetable. Do you have an idea what substitude I could use so it feels more like a whole meal without the onions? I want to try it with mushrooms instead, but could use some more ideas!
