Y'all, I'm one of Jeff's students, he's an AMAZING teacher, my playing has grown so much in my eyes. Jump on it, I've had a few teachers and they either treat you like your another face or charge way way way too much, Jeff crushes in teaching just like he crushes in drumming. Amazing ethic, both playing and teaching. He's a monster

Thanks again Jeff..I've been mentored by Jeff in so many ways since September 2022...I do weekly sessions mostly...my improvement has skyrocketed...his style, simplicity, and the resources he uses are priceless. I'd suggest you tryout a 1 to 1 with him...and see if you are both a good fit.... 'cause if you feel so, you will get better and be that drummer you wanna be! Gor for it! Thanks for everything Jeff!! Keep on 🥁!

I'm re-learning how to play matched grip, and this is perfect because it's helping to slowly get that feel, that moeller motion that the right hand knows... the way that you've put these exercises together - right hand, then left, is great for what i'm doing because i'm able to really notice the feel in the right hand and try and mirror that with the left. Thanks a lot, also with the music is super relaxing and promoting that mind body connection that I need to try and get that feel in the left hand. Basically thanks, and great video :D

Every time I see your videos I think that you are Jewish because it seems that you have a KIPA on your head. Excuse my appreciation but I think it is the visual perspective or the shape of the hair or hairstyle. Regardless of that, you seem like a tremendous instructor to me and I watch each of your videos. Keep making video tutorials for free and you will see how your followers increase, which in turn will increase the $ in the channel. Subscribers = $$$.

Thanks a lot for this Jeff! It's not even the exercise or the warm-up itself that will make me start my practice sessions with playing along to this, but the comradery! Even though it's a video on KZbin, I'm still playing with you if that makes any sense, and that felt really nice. Thanks for putting so much effort into these videos, I appreciate it!

Hey Jeff, this is a great warmup exercise and compliments your other warmup video, which I will also be sharing with my students. THANK YOU! Also, your prudent approach to speed and injury prevention is to be commended in a sea of YT shred drumming vids. One aspect you may consider commenting on is to pay attention to (matched) grip symmetry and the tone you produce from each hand, especially, for those who are new to whip stokes or push/pull techniques. It can be a challenge for the weaker hand to comfortably house the stick while doing more eccentric bigger movements like these whip strokes. Even grip = even tone. Anyway, thanks again for making another clear and concise warmup play along.

Great lesson! Thank you. I'm finding that my right hand has no problem doing the whipping stroke. Feels in control and fluid, however, my left hand feels a bit awkward and not fluid. Should I do these exercises with only my left hand until i have the control and fluidity of my right. Also, it feels like I'm hitting accents when I do this exercise.

My control has improved immensely since I've been working out with you. I want you to critique me if you get a min. I'd love to hear where you think I need work. I currently play for my church. I went From an Ozzy tribute to this. I'm grateful to be where I'm at tho. Not sure if I can share a link to our YT channel here. Fresh Start church in Palm Bay Florida is where I currently play. I'll see if I can copy & paste it here. If not, please look it up 😎

@@badhabits25 French grip can be very useful with cymbal work but it's definitely not mandatory. Many of my favorite drummers do just fine with just German/American grip. I'd be happy to work with you one-on-one on this btw! No pressure of course. jeffrandallmusic.com/lesson
