Definitely the point of intentional movement hit home. Thank you. I have been torn with either using the gimbal or not that sometimes I would go to some extremes of not using at all or always using it and didn’t bring meaningful movement to my videos. Thank you for this reminder because it tells me be ok with the gimbal if I like it but doesn’t mean I have to run circles around the subject the entire time. Also applies to my drone usage as well.

@@StephenDeLosRios it’s tough! We can get so comfortable with it and it’s been so freeing retiring the gimbal and going all handheld on the day. Everyone’s process is a so different and some people slay with the gimbal. I would just act a fool with it 😂

Shoutout # 19! Sitting here watching this while I hope a potential bride sees my email because I was about to call and realized I never got her number 😂 She was an email referral from another bride, otherwise it would have been captured in the inquiry 🥴

There is no person without mistakes and people learn from mistakes too, so I can’t find a photographer or a videographer to help me, everyone is without responsibility for the equipment and for the shooting, but the most important thing is that you have good cinematic pictures, I’m trying to achieve this, in this business it’s work without rest and until you drop.We still need to prepare ourselves physically for a sudden turn of events.

what focus and aperture you use when videography a group in church to be everyone in focus?
@WaywardNorth
@WaywardNorth 5 ай бұрын
Depends on your lens, cameras ISO range, and available light but I would say anything between 5.6 - 8.0 will create a narrow depth of field. I usually recommend staying at 5.6.

How much revision are normal? I usually dont offer free ones.
@WaywardNorth
@WaywardNorth 5 ай бұрын
@@Marvnz I’d say it’s generous to atleast offer 1-2 minimal revisions (shot swap, color adjustment, etc) but anything beyond those 2 i do refer to my hourly rate. Thankfully this has only happened twice in my 11 years and each time I received some kick back since they felt entitled to endless revisions for whatever reason. But I always try to approach it gently, do everything in my power and scope to make them happy, then go from there

Oh man, theres so many... Don't leave your gimbal at the church. Dont miss out half the top table with your wide shot during speeches. Remember to communicate with the MC or first apeech giver so they dont start without you being ready. NEVER use the word 'fine' when describing the couple shot you just took! I could go on. Solo filmmaking is sooo damn hard. 😂 But you learn the best lessons through making mistakes.

Does Outsourcing take away the you aspect in the editing?
@WaywardNorth
@WaywardNorth 5 ай бұрын
@@AdamDoesWeddings-l3k To some degree you are handing your film in someone else’s hands. So the creativity and structure will feel different at first but with strong communication and direction on your part, outsourcing can be a game changer. Instead of being the editor, you become the creative director and guide the editor to the feeling you want to convey.
