I'll give an honourable mention to the 2019 Vegas Golden Knights. After blowing a 3-1 series lead to force a Game 7 in a first round series against the San Jose Sharks, Vegas jumped to a 3-0 lead and were about a half period away from moving to the second round. Then, in a split second, everything changed. Off the face-off in the San Jose end, Cody Eakin gave a cross check to Joe Pavelski, who then got dropped by Paul Stastney as Stastney went looking for the puck, Eakin was given a match penalty, and the Sharks would score 4 times during the 5 minute PP en route to a 6-5 OT win. The game could have gone differently if the refs looked at the Jumbotron to see what actually happened, or if the Vegas coach called a time out either after the penalty call or after the first PPG, but we'll never know. The 2019 Tampa Bay Lightning and 2023 Boston Bruins also deserve a mention, for putting up historic wins records during the regular season (62 and 65 respectively), only to get bounced in the first round of the playoffs (swept in 4 straight and blowing a 3-1 series lead, respectively).

I'm a football (soccer) fans, but your video doesn't show all soccer-related collapses. You only posted Steven Gerrard's infamous slip with Liverpool against Chelsea. Funny enough that WM had even mentioned Barcelona vs PSG during the last season's Champions League quarterfinals, which was also fixed. Here's a notable cases for the soccer: 1.Brazil 1-7 Germany in 2014 World Cup semifinal. 2.Barcelona and Ajax in 2018-19 Champions League semifinal, although Barcelona are much worse than Ajax (Barcelona lost 0-4 to Liverpool after winning 3-0, while Ajax lost on away goals to Spurs). 3.AC Milan in 2005 Champions League Final (3-0 in the first half, then Liverpool scored 3 and won on penalties).
@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643Ай бұрын
That is correct. Brazil were lost without their best defender Thiago Silva and their talisman and best attacking player Neymar. As such, they collapsed. And it could have been even worse had Germany manager Joachim Löw not told his players not to humiliate the Brazilians any further (André Schürrle wasn't listening). Meanwhile Milan, Barcelona, and Ajax all bottled it in the Champions League from 3-0 up.

@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643Ай бұрын
Epic? Oh, please. The Catalans cheated. That second "penalty" (the one Neymar scored) was no penalty at all. Suarez dove (not the first time he was diving on the pitch either, just ask David Moyes). The correct answer for the UCL is the final in 2005. Liverpool were 3-0 down against one of the best teams in the world. They came back through Steven Gerrard, Vladimír Šmicer, and Xabi Alonso. They won it on penalties. Another good choice would have been Roma beating Barca in 2018. The Catalans were 4-1 up. Roma managed to score three unanswered goals to win it on away goals. Either semi in 2019 would also be acceptable (Liverpool were 3-0 down going into the second leg at home and they had to play full strength against Newcastle and were without Salah and Firmino and won 4-0 through braces from Origi and Wijnaldum - while Spurs had one half to score three unanswered goals which they did do thanks to Lucas Moura). Chelsea against Napoli in 2012 would have worked as well (lost 3-1 in Italy, won 4-1 at home). As would Man United against PSG in 2019 (lost 2-0 at home, won 3-1 in Paris). Deportivo La Coruña against AC Milan in 2004 would have been a good choice as well (4-1 loss in Milan, 4-0 win at home). Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg in 2016 would have been acceptable (lost 2-0 in Germany, won 3-0 at home with Ronaldo being the hat trick hero). As would Monaco against City in 2017 (5-3 loss in Manchester, 3-1 win at home). And Juventus vs Atletico in 2019 (2-0 loss in Madrid, 3-0 win in Italy with another hat trick hero moment from Ronaldo). If you're going for a comeback in Barca's favor, I suggest Milan in 2013 (lost 2-0 away, won 4-0 at home).

But, as I grew older my father, and most guys in my family would always tell that story to me. I would then go on to watch the 30 for 30 documentary: 4 Days in October. And man, I wish I was old enough to remember that time and be there during it. That’s a story for the ages. But, now. I have my own story for the ages. The falcons collapse against the patriots in Super Bowl 51. I remember watching that game with my dad on the couch and thinking that it’s over. My dad went up to bed, I figured I’d just stay and watch the commercials and scroll through my phone not really paying attention. But eventually they were scoring and would come back. I remember Edlenuts miraculous catch, and whites final touch down to seal the deal. Memories like those you’ll never forget, and I hope someday we’ll get more like them. The fans of the patriots were truly spoiled, having the best QB of all time on their team. I never realized how truer that statement was till having Mac Jones and Cam Newton. And now this team. I’m glad they led the clip with the real culprit of the collapse- Alex Gonzalez. The foul ball would’ve been out #2 and just resulted in another pitch to Castillo. The error by Gonzalez would’ve ended the inning, but instead left 2 runners on who would represent the tying and go-ahead runs. Adding insult to injury the next batter who hit the tying double was future Cub and fan favorite Derrek Lee.
