Having explosion as your only normal type move to be used on your terrastyle Pokémon seems to be a waste since you can only terrastyle once per battle…. And the only move that benefits it kills it

Normal coverage isn't considered good because neutral non-STAB attacks aren't potent, so turning these into legit STAB with Pokemon that only got those looks pleasant.

Actually, they are considered bad mostly because they are bad at actually covering types. Normal moves get stopped by any and every ghost type, and by most rock and steel types... And steel is a top 3 type in both smogon and VGC so yeah, not good at all. Normal moves are basically worse fighting moves the majority of time.

@@Bradbradhehe Yes but you also get to keep your stab EQ with Ursaluna which is a huge difference imo. It lets you pass rock and steel types(not all but still) easier and also a way to touch some ghost types.

Does tera work how we think it works? Can any pokemon be any tera type? If so why is the pre order tera flying Pikachu rare? Just because of the move fly? They emphasize that its a tera flying type which means its pre set to flying? Can you change tera type? I dont think you can because that makes the emphasis on tera flying pikachu irrelevant. If tera could be changed on a whim wouldn't they just say its just a pikachu with fly? Why emphasize that its tera type is flying if tera types are fluid? I think everyones confused on how it actually works. I think certain pokemon can only have certain tera types. Or preorder marketing department is just dumb trying to justify the poopy pre order reward.

It was confirmed in one of the gameplay trailers that any pokemon can be any Tera Type. "Rare" Tera Types are just a descriptor to our currently knowledge, we don't know why or what constitutes to a Tera Type being "rare". We don't know if a pokemon's Tera Type can be changed either, so there's a lack of info in that regard currently too. People are allowed to assume or guess how things will go, but I will only make videos based on certainty otherwise the lines get a little blurred.
