I get a bunch of digital stuff because PS4 is 99% online only and will refuse to work without any conection anyway. But physical ones that actually work are indeed pretty good, although I usually just get whatever is cheapest since I don't expect the current shitty consoles to last over 5 years, I'm surprised my ps4 is turning 2, the other 2 suspiciously died just outside of the warranty ( at like 1 year and 3 months or something like that, give or take a few). Edit* Also about 2 months after I wrote this my ps4 started dying again so that's great, people can say a lot about Xbox but atleast that thing still mostly works.( After about 2 years) And I can play some of those games on my PC( if the Microsoft store would work for once which it rarely does, dunno why keeps unlinking my account from my pc).

Devotion actually got a very limited re-release in Taiwan only, just in early June this year. I gotta write another e-mail to Red Candle, like I did over half a year ago when they told me no re-release was planned anytime soon. Also, during that time they were working on a switch port for their other hit game Detention, as well as a movie adaptation of it. The recent limited re-release of Devotion makes me hope the English version might have a chance for a return, too.
@beardalaxy5 жыл бұрын
This offered me a nice challenge. I tried to see how many of these games actually CAN still be played, even if by "illegal" means. -Devotion can be pirated and played on PC. -Scott Pilgrim can be downloaded to be played on a homebrewed PS3 or through RPCS3 on PC. -Anniversary Edition can be pirated (although MUCH harder to find) to be played on a homebrewed 3DS or Citra (potentially). -Loadout apparently can be played on PS4 if you have a Hong Kong PSN account and then use some service to buy a Hong Kong PSN card, since the game is now about $14 USD. This is because another company in Asia bought the game, and Asia does not have to comply with GDPR. Why anywhere besides Europe does is beyond me. -MAG unfortunately appears to be dead. However, there could be hope. There is definitely a download of it out there somewhere (and if there isn't, there are still discs that could be ripped), and it's completely possible that custom servers could be a thing to happen. Unlikely, but still possible. -Deadpool is one I already know is playable even without looking it up. It's probably at your local GameStop as a physical version on at least one of the consoles, and you can definitely pirate it. -War of the Roses can be pirated, but I don't know enough about the game to know if you can play against bots or anything like that. Interestingly enough, according to SteamDB it was last updated 6 months ago. -Simpson's Arcade is definitely able to be pirated and played on MAME and likely on RPCS3 or a homebrewed PS3 as well. I can't actually find the flash version of the game, but I'm curious as to why it would be illegal to play it after Flash support is dropped. Just because Adobe is no longer supporting flash player, that doesn't mean you can no longer have flash player installed and play flash games. You may have to use older browsers to do so, but it is in no way illegal. There are also a few Flash Player emulators, which will let you play Flash games in them. As we all know, emulators are not illegal. -Flappy Bird is another one that's definitely playable. The APK can be found online and installed onto your Android device, or even with an Android emulator. -The Walking Dead you can actually pirate and play Multiplayer using Steam, a pretty rare but cool case. Makes me wonder if there is something behind the scenes we don't know about. -Club Penguin can also still be played through the use of private servers. There are a LOT of them. -1 vs 100 seems more like a "service" rather than a game to me, but let's go with it. There is absolutely zero way to play this anymore. -PT, aside from being a game that can be pirated and played on a homebrewed PS4, actually still exists on PlayStation Store's servers, it's just invisible. There is a program that you can use to download it to your account if you have ever downloaded it before, and I believe it uses some DNS trickery to do so. That was the case a couple years ago, at least. -Ura Zelda was never playable, this one doesn't count. So that's a 10(11?)/13. Not bad if you ask me. This is why torrent sites, ROM sites, and the homebrew community are so important. Preserving games is something that companies don't always do, and sometimes the people have to take it into their own hands. Heck, Nintendo has been caught on numerous occasions downloading ROMs from ROM sites and using them in official products.

As long as you have a physical copy of a game or Digital copy it can be brought back to life unless it’s on the server or has DLC that no longer exist due to a server no longer this existing. Even some games that no longer have servers can be brought back to life with the right programmers but those kind of people are far in between of doing that.

MAG was that type of game that was ahead of its time. It was an FPS unlike anyother. It had no aim assist. Teamwork was required to win. The best part is the game had a clan system. Where clans can battle it out in clan battles. Their are many videos. Just type MAG PS3 Clan battles. You'll see teamwork. Now in days people find 32 vs 32 player battles as massive. In my experience, 32 vs 32 in MAG was the smallest player count. Other game modes had 32 vs 32 vs 32 ( All three factions battled against each other. Raven, SVER, and Valor), 64 vs 64, and the best 128 vs 128( Domination).

Activision released 3 licensed games from 2014-2016, all developed by platinum games. These games were The Legend of Korra, Transformers Devastation and TMNT: Mutants in Manhatten. While they were definitely low budget titles rushed out before the licenses expire, they were not awful, with devastation in particular somehow being genuinely good. They were all taken down in 2017, leaving a permanent hole in the platinum library.

Working on games is hard, and trying to produce something everyone will like is impossible. I used to complain about games, until it was my time to start working on them. I now have a huge respect for guys making games on deadlines, under budget, understaffed, and undervalued later on by players. It cost a lot of money to make a good game, especially if everything comes out of your own pocket. I am within a month or two of releasing my first one, finally. I ponder daily what people will think. I guess the point I am getting at is creating a game is hard, so take it easy on the developers, especially the new ones! Thanks.
