I once had a Tomos moped. Two speed automatic gearbox, top speed about 35mph, but it managed to get me to and from work, not waiting for buses that might or might not run, gave me my independence at 137 mpg on a regular basis (UK). So what about an explanation for that big blue truck then?

They talk about the smart car only having 89 HP like how could it only have that small of engine. My 1955 VW only had 36 HP and I drove it everywhere and never gave it a thought. I even drove it from Fullerton, Ca. to Salome Springs, Arkansas, no big deal. I wonder if I'd be brave enough to do that now? Back then I was young and dumb at 19years old in 1963.

HP/LB is the measure of performance. 2.5 hp in a 60 lb (plus rider) scooter isnt bad. Think 250 hp in a 6000 lb vehicle, and you have a 1970's Cadillac or Lincoln.
