This was very clear about what happens with which arm in back attack - thanks very much. As a request, please could you do a video about concepts in leg lock defense? How to keep your legs safe in general, and how to escape from leg locks in general. For those of us who are not leg-lock experts, it's pretty confusing when you're wrestling someone who is. Thanks again for the great content.

Can't wait to try the triangle part! I'm long limbed and everybody always assume I got dangerous triangles but I rarely go for them since I feel I always gett stacked or that they quickly go around "the corner" as you showed.

Should definitely help! I've got a bad neck but still for triangles all the time because I know how to avoid the stack, and the pass, using what I showed 🙂. You definitely gotta utilize those long legs and hit more triangles!

this is valuable information! The back attacks part was very helpful. Being a whitebelt I'm just focused on a few submissions and no lower body submissions yet so I'm mostly working on triangles, armbars, omoplatas, collar chokes, kimuras, and rnc for now.

I love these straight-forward tips and how you explain things. #16 Pinching the shoulder down for the kimura is something I can use right away. I go for that kimura from half/full-guard all the time, but often I'm pushing their arm way out into the air and not close to their body. It's difficult to finish and feels really inefficient. Pinching down is definitely an "aha" moment for me.

Love the small details in each tip. I remember learning tip 4 at purple belt, pulling the lapel slack out with the non choking hand, that was a total game changer for me. Also, would you be able to add a north south instructional to your queue? I'm curious to see how you would break the move down. I struggle with the opponent turning. Also, I lose the ns choke when big guys counter with a neck attack. The counter doesn't get the tap but it usually gives them the space to escape.
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
I'm going to do a side control escape video next! I'll put north south in there too. Generally I'll either try and use my flexibility to take the back, or starting turning inwards to grab a leg and wrestle. Will be clearer when I make the video :) Thanks for the suggestion! I actually never go for north south chokes for the same reason you mentioned. Some guys are tricky from the bottom, and its a tough choke to sink in perfect anyways. Much better options from N/S to go for imo.
@AP3FX3 жыл бұрын
Love these. Jordan, you are so thorough. Could we be looking forward to you making some one escapes? Being early vs late,etc? Sometimes I know what to do, when I'm in the scenario, but I can't execute because I don't know whT to do first.

Thanks for all the videos. This style of content with commentary added in post is probably a lot more time consuming to make but it really ups the quality compared to other channels where you can barely hear the person explaining a technique while they're doing it. For tip 9 Mounted armbar you shot your foot underneath the far arm to get into S-mount (when demonstrating the leg over head first variation). Then in the grabbing their leg first demo, you didn't get the foot underneath the far arm. Was this just to show that it can be quicker with less set up, or is getting the foot there not really necessary? I ask because I always have trouble getting underneath their tricep with my foot when going into S-mount. Looking forward to trying your way, thanks again.
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
It takes so much longer it's basically a part time job making these lol. More work than I expected when I made the channel but worth it to hear people are enjoying and learning 🙂 Ya you definitely don't need the leg under the far arm with my style, hooking the leg. Another huge benefit of grabbing the leg. You don't need to be fully in a deep perfect position to go for it. Only like half the "S" is really needed 🙂

@nathantheophilus485611 ай бұрын
The same way bjj people generally arent regularly trained to deal with striking arts (like the ones u mentioned), people from those martial arts are generally very technically deficient in the ground game! As seen in UFC 1 if people who grapple well have a reliable takedown , they win that exchange! Of course, assuming they dont get knocked out before they can close the distance Tldr: if you have a good ground game and the opponent doesnt, you generally win so long as you take the fight to the ground and minimize damage sustained in doing that process 🙏
