I can't wait to try this! Today I used my foot to pry my other foot out of a leg lock, thanks to you!

If you could start a series from here about common defenses to the entries and ways you can counter them into different passes or subs... that would be very cool
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
That's a really good idea man. I think counter oriented follow ups to some of the videos would be super cool!

I’ve been using this since you put the video out. It is an awesome pass that works on all levels.

Got exactly what i wanted from this video, thanks! Dope mount is one of my favorite's and was working on everyone but this skilled black belt leg locker kept getting the saddle entry on me. Now I know the detail I was missing. Thanks!
@joopjoperson3 жыл бұрын
Wow you addressed the key thing I was doing when applying the side smash to get to the dope mount that kept me getting into the saddle. Thanks for the detailed video
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
Glad it could help. I love dope mount! It's so powerful. Many do it wrong unfortunately and give up on it. Hoping my video will change that :)

In his prime, BJ Penn was amazing at this pass. Love that knee positioning detail for avoiding the saddle.
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
I think BJ might have even coined the term dope mount. Definitely the OG of dope mount. That detail definitely makes or breaks the pass 🙂

@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Is there a reason you prefer this knee positioning as opposed to stapling their bottom leg with your foot? Thanks for uploading this, this is one of my favorite passing positions for the reasons you mentioned, once you have the position it feels so easy to go right into mount.
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
@@koalaofdeath2045 yepp because stapling doesn't stop the person from being able to curl their body in. It might prevent the leg lock somewhat but it's not great control to prevent the person from from keeping their knee and elbow together to stop the leg from coming in for mount, or from them turning their knees and escaping 🙂
@wlbernie3 жыл бұрын
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu awesome stuff here. Very true I've stapled the leg and always had good guys invert underneath me and they're sometimes able to still get the saddle. I've been doing dope mount for years but was almost ready to give up on it because of this. This way definitely addresses this issue and is how I'm going to be doing it from now on. Thanks!!
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
@@wlbernie awesome man!! I'm confident in all my techniques but dope mount especially I really feel I've got the best way to do it nailed down. I'm really happy I can share my version with so many people! Let me know if it works for you 🙂

Hm I think Demian Maia does that a lot in mma. I think also Connor mounted Siver with that pass
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu3 жыл бұрын
Yepp! Connor hit it so beautifully against Siver. His grappling is underrated I think. Just because he gets out grappled by elite grapplers everyone thinks his ground sucks lol.
