They made a video (or part of) about facial expressions and focusing on your working muscles, I think, not long ago Edit : Well, I haven't found it so I guess I saw it on another channel. The idea was to keep a neutral face during workout and focusing on your breathe and muscle contraction.

There’s a difference when your making a video like this and when you’re training to max effort on anything. When you train to max effort your muscles begin to burn and as you push through the burn you may grunt or max a face

I started lifting weight 11 months ago. I was 6’1 ft and 138 lbs. Now Im 6’1 ft and 163 lbs. Today I started calisthenics and I created my own full body program(I’ll do this 3 times a week): 12x3 regular push ups 10x3 decline push ups 6x3 dips 3x3 pull up 4x3 negative pull up 3x3 chin up 7x3 australian pull up 12 x 3 back dips 25 sec x 3 handstand 10 x 3 jumping squads 10 x 3 lunges 10x3 calf And abs movements. (1.30 min rest between sets, 2.30 rest between exercises. Took my 2 hour) . How is my program? What should I change in my program?

For towel or shirt assisted one arm pullups I found that if your top hand grips the bar exactly where you hang the towel, the movement becomes very similar to the real one arm pull up (or chin up if you use the underhand grip), so this exercise has a high specificity. The difficulty can be increased by gripping the towel lower and you can count how many fists or knuckles below the bar you grab it, the easiest version being just below the bar. I got this method from Mathew Zlat's one arm pullup tutorial, he says that in his experience some other methods (archer/typewriter, less fingers on the secondary hand, grabbing the wrist or arm with the secondary hand, hanging the towel far from the primary hand) are less specific although they can still work.

Agree. Regular Uneven Pul-Ups are not that good. Also Typewriters and Ice Cream Makers are a waste of time.
@MassimoKokhno6 жыл бұрын
I'm really glad I learned about that variation, it looks exactly like one arm pullups and it feels good as an exercise, the possible mistake that comes to mind are relying too much on the secondary hand, and for now it feels like by making sure you enter a good active hang before pulling the primary arm is more engaged.
@adrianogarcia90176 жыл бұрын
why ice cream makers are waste of time?

1- What is the complete ROM of FL rows to consider it a rep? 2- Why it's hard to touch the bar? 3- Any weak links will result from not touching the bar over the long term? 4- What supplemntary exercises to help with that or to avoid or strengthen weak links of that movement? 5- Why It's possible to touch it with false grip? Please help, thank you!
@johannes10705 жыл бұрын
Im not a professonal, but I think you‘re first limited with your mobility and second in the upper part of the pull up you can use your bizeps less than in the middle of the movement. With the arched back the problem gets bigger. You have to use your trapezius more than else. At the normal pull up you use most your lats and bizeps, in this position the trapezius get a higher load The false grip decrease the length of your lower arm and you‘re faster with your chest at the bar than with the normal grip. Here is the mobility the key. That‘s what I think, pls correct me if I‘m wrong:)

I did weighted pull ups for 5 weeks now. I'm at a point where without weights I can do 4 sets of 10 pull ups (I'm so light without the weights). This video popped up at the perfect time. I don't know if I should focus on chest to bar pull ups or frenchie pull ups. I kinda want to do muscle ups one day, so maybe chest to bar is best.

I'd say the downside of band pullups is also the upside. It would be even harder to finish the pullup if you were use to a lot of assistance at the top.
