@FinePointsBookkeeping can you refer me a bookkeeping client?
@christinamorris85334 ай бұрын
I got my larger bookkeeping client through a staffing service looking for a part-time bookkeeper. I would scour all of the part-time bookkeeping jobs to see if they would accept a contract bookkeeper instead. This larger client became my biggest source of income for 7 years. They agreed after I was paid off through the staffing company to hire me as a 1099 contractor. A CPA also gave me their more troublesome clients to help me get started. Don't run out of clients! Always keep more coming in!

Your CPA suggestion really works, they usually need help with books or know people who do, also Enrolled Agent tax professionals who only do taxes, have many clients who ask for bookkeeping services

What if your chamber of commerce already has a bookkeeper in it? How do you get in there in a friendly way?
@FinePointsBookkeeping Жыл бұрын
Good question. My chamber doesn't care if there are multiple bookkeepers--anyone can join. I may even see it as a chance to get to know someone in the field and compare notes. But, for Business Network International (BNI) groups, they typically only want one of each type of business. In that case you would need to find another BNI group to join. I do have this older video on how to network with bookkeepers: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqCWnZ1pZ6p9fdE

Do you or any bookkeepers out there think that AI is going to take over your jobs? If not take over bookkeeping jobs then greatly reduce the need for them? I was thinking about doing bookkeeping, but I heard an economist say that in the next three years hundreds of millions of jobs will be lost to AI. Bookkeeping seems to be vulnerable to this especially for those who do it remotely such as yourself, and that is what I was planning on doing? Just would like to hear some thoughts.
@FinePointsBookkeeping Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. I'm planning to research this in more detail so I can speak to it in-depth. Obviously, things are advancing quickly right now, and many jobs will be changing. A few things come to my mind: 1. Bookkeepers will begin to use more and more AI to our advantage. As a person directing an AI tool, it will be important to understand the options available. I've already seen this a ton in the last 10 years as QBO has gotten much smarter. It's honestly made my job as a bookkeeper easier and more enjoyable. 2. Some business owners will always want a real person to help them out. They want to focus on other things and don't want to learn to manage multiple online tools (no matter how "easy" it gets). 3. Combining the first two, I see bookkeepers moving toward a more advisory role. We can use AI tools and our knowledge to craft creative, personalized solutions for our clients. I do have an older video where I talk about this, and will plan to make an update soon: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmqbcqSYp5acrNk
@Railfan88 Жыл бұрын
@@FinePointsBookkeeping It is scary how fast things are progressing right now. Is the AI tool that you are directing QBO? You are right, some people (Such as myself) will always want to deal with a person and not an AI. I will check that video out and look forward to your next one on it. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I was referring to QBO, but I'm sure there are other tools (now and future) also!
