先生, I really enjoy how you mix Japanese culture into your sentence examples. Your lessons really are the complete package, you cover everything from usage, examples, cultural insights, and even pronunciation through including yourself on screen. Truly, this channel needs to grow! 1. 南アフリカの伝統にしたがって、毎年24日9月に私たちはブライです。 In line with South African tradition, we braai on the 24th of September each year. 2. もっと日本語を学ぶにしたがって、私は自信を持って成長します As I learn more Japanese, I grow in confidence.

Thank you always for your comments :) Please keep on going!!! 1. 南アフリカの伝統にしたがって、毎年24日9月に私たちはブライです。 In line with South African tradition, we braai on the 24th of September each year. 「南アフリカの伝統にしたがって、毎年9月24日に私たちはブライをします。」 「24日9月」ではなく、日付の表記が「9月24日」であるほうが自然です。修正された文では、より自然な語順と適切な表現を使用して、毎年行われるブライという伝統を述べています。 2. もっと日本語を学ぶにしたがって、私は自信を持って成長します As I learn more Japanese, I grow in confidence. ⇒すばらしい!!

Sensei, as long as we're stating, "As A changes, B changes accordingly", are につれて and にしたがって interchangeable? Also, as long as we're stating, "According to X rule...", can we switch にしたがって with によって?

Yes, it is correct. As long as we're stating, "As A changes, B changes accordingly", are につれて and にしたがって interchangeable. よって does not have a meaning " according to". These are the four meanings of よって. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4aso2OfhbOFja8) 【1. Due to/because of N 】 【2. By, through (Method, way of doing something)】 【3. By someone (actor of passive sentence)】 【4. Depends on…】 I think you wanted to say " によれば/によると" which has a meaning of " according to". However, this " according to" is used to describe "going by what ~ says," ,"from what I hear", " I read/heard in ~ that". For example: According to the weather report it's going to be really hot next week. 「天気予報によると来週はとても暑くなるようだ。」 したがって means " According to" but this has a meaning of " following", "conform to " ," in accordance with". For example: following the rules ルールにしたがって、 following the law 法律にしたがって、 Therefore, したがって and によれば/によると are not interchangeable.
