200+ Miles by Boat from Sarasota to the Keys

We traveled in our 24 foot Glasstream center console boat from Sarasota County to the Florida Keys. We stayed in Marathon and went to snokeling sites. We also went to Key West and stayed the day. Seeing a lot that Key West has to offer. We traveled a total of 450 miles over the five days in our Glasstream boat powered by one 250hp Evenrude ETec G2. We did get really good gas mileage with the boat setup that we have.

Not certain if you have it, but the Lowrance outboard hydraulic pack coupled with the Simrad is AWESOME!!! I ran ours on AP about 75% of the time, absolutely spoils you especially on those multi-hour trips :)

Great video! Nice boat. I’m in Michigan. Have a 2005 Polar WA. Evinrude 225 E-Tec. It has always run flawlessly. Too bad BRP dropped Evinrude. I’ve thought about trailering it to Key Largo to a place I go.

I used to own a 242CCX glasstream. There is no other boat in that size range that beats the shit out of you like the glasstream. It handled small waves so poorly it was almost extremely impressive. That said, it was a very efficient hull, and that in combo with the Evinrude G2 might make it the most efficient 24 footer out there. Evinrude G2 = best outboard ever made. What year is yours?

We just stopped once to refuel. It was about 55-60 gallon one way.
