That true dual sounds amazing. I have a 2000 Silverado with true dual running on the cats only with no tips in it doesn't sound as good as that. Maybe the tips make a difference

I legit think I would prefer the single on an LM7. A little smoother and has that familiar sound. When dude took off with the true duals, it did sound good, but it sounded a lot like a Mercedes G-wagon.

Man I have a 2011 1500 Silverado on a 4 inch suspension lift on 33x12 wheels and 20 inch rims . This is the very first truck I am looking to actually put an exhaust system kind of this sort of exhaust. I don’t know what the best recomendable system would be for that vehicle. Will the shop that installs it, make sure I don’t get a dash board full of lights? 😂 Any way any recommendations and tips would be greatly appreciated I don’t know much about this besides that it adds horsepower and motor would breathe better, so I’ve heard. 👂🏽

Do you mean 20x12 wheels and 33” tires? And exhaust doesn’t mess with any codes unless you have them cut off the cats without welding in new bungs for the 02 sensors

The motor will breathe a LOT better. The stock muffler had a lot of backpressure.

I can tell you from experience, tip size doesn’t matter when accelerating. At idle you may hear a deeper or higher pitch sound but thats about it. It’s mainly for aesthetics

Also it doesn’t matter if a single has 8 inch tips and duals have 5 inch tips. The duals are gonna be louder regardless

Does doing the true duals cause the check engine light to turn on ? And I’m guessing it won’t pass emissions in CA ? , I want to do this to my 02 Yukon 5.7 but I’m unsure if I will be able to get tags for it

True duals with cats won’t trip a check engine light. The only way it will trip a light is if you get the cats removed. Also I don’t think it will pas Cali emissions since I’ve heard and seen that you can’t modify your exhaust in Cali.

Bo dummy light til cats are removed, and even then, there’s a trick to fool the sensor anyway. As for emission, just keep your stock and slap it back in for emissions, and take it back out once it passes. That’s how I roll.

@exhaust addicts Hey man. I was thinking about hollowing out my catalytic converter(i know i know.). Probably a dumb question. But: is their anything in the ecm that will make the car run weird/throw codes if I basically straight pipe it?

It will throw a 420 and 430 code. Also it will throw off the gas to air ratio.

The true sound comes from if you put a tip on it or not. Stock pipe as a tip sounds awful. A tip 4” or bigger is what gives it that deep tone.

What's with the janky job of stuffing a smaller pipe inside the larger pipe then filling the gap with welds? Not even a proper step down. You definitely cause him a loss in power with you're exhaust work. Probably would have lost power anyway with true duals but definitely hurt it worse with your janky work.
