2000 Dodge Durango Front Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement :Philadelphia

In this video I will show you how to replace Front brake pads and rotors on a 2000 Dodge Durango ( The specific vehicle is missing brake clips for outside Caliper make sure you put your clips back on)
Tools needed
Lugnuts 19mm (6)
Brake caliber bolts 7mm hex (2)
Maybe hammer if you brake rotor is stuck to hub.

Mine has a mustache looking clip that goes on the outside of the calipers. It’s a pain the the a$$ to put back on. I don’t see on yours? Mine is a 2000 Durango Slt rear wheel drive with Magnum Engine

Only put a lil lube on it when that get to temp it could leak down and make the brake system fail. If grease gets on the rotor or pads there goes the friction needed to allow adequate stopping power I did enjoy how proactive he is about doin a great job and covering all bases

Your calipers are going to fall off or share your pads...you didn't put the retaining clip on the front that holds them down

No when I stayed the job they were missing customer knew but choose not to pay to replace them. “She stated I have been doing fine all this time” so 🤷🏾‍♂️

QuickFixHere ah, kk I just did my 2000 Durango brake pads and rotors as I watched, I put the first tire on and forgot the clip. Lol I took it back off to install it. Thanks for the video, I’m going to do the rear drums next, pretty much the same? My floor jack didn’t lift it as high I noticed you have a shim to lift it higher, I’ll have to do that to my jack. Again thanks for the video.

@@chooseyourlife9894 Pretty sure that year have none. The 03 Durango has a floating brake pad setup where you have a bracket for the pads to sit in and there are abutment clips for the pads to ride on. That 2000 Durango you worked on has ears on the knuckle that the pads ride on, so its important to clean off the rust and get is smooth then coat with brake lube to prevent the pads from binding

There are no clips on that setup. That's one of the problems with that brake setup. You need to file the ears on the knuckle where the pads ride and make sure its well lubed to keep it from rusting and binding the pads

@@bobsoft mine had clips though. It's weird because when I bought the new pads, they had different clips than what was on there. I ended up getting rid of that piece of shit. I hated that thing
