thank you for the EXELENT video.it was so precise and helpful and you really went into detail on how to get the certain components off with ease.I actually had luck only once watching this video because i was looking for a bolt head on the other side of the one you were tapping loose,and then i realized that thats why you explaind to do it that way.i used a flathead screwdriver but nonetheless had success.thanks again,my honda starts once more.

Great video ! ! ! Camera angles and verbage were really good. . . . . But, ., ., . at 6:24 you were showing from top view of bolt, to tap the shear bolt in the clockwise direction, which is tightening, not loosening. Could cause severe frustration.

I have a 2003 civic sedan automatic and somebody tried to steal it and messed up the ignition lock cylinder. Can I just buy a cylinder on Amazon for 35 bucks and replace it and reprogram the key at a dealership insstead of replacing the whole assebly?

Yup should be good. Need the key to unlock the doors tho unless you have an aftermarket alarm fob.

My ignition switch locked up on me Thursday out of the blue. Had to get it towed to my apartment from work. Will be replacing the part tomorrow. Funny thing. I have a 2000 Honda Civic LX with 190,000 miles on it. This. Idea was awesome. Thanks you 👍

DOOMZDAY34 you could had just took off the screws that hold the plastic housing around ignition switch On the left side of the steering column there's a switch with like four wires on it being held on by two Phillip head screws remove them two screws and stick a straight edge screw driver and turn it clock wise two clicks And it starts right up Great if your stuck somewhere and you have no excess to triple AAA or have money for a tow Had to do that a few days ago to a civic I bought,it had a broken ignition switch owner i Guess from what his wife told me he put in wrong and I had to start the car to get it home after buying it Took me a couple minutes to do everything in

Paulo Amaral man this was an awesome video bro. Lucky I have a friend that's a mechanic. He changed out the ignition cylinder which I purchased at AutoZone for $24.24 the last one they had for a 2000 Honda Civic LX baby works good now. Everything you did in this video was spot on correct homey had to come back, and give you props 👍 thanks for breaking everything down. You the man hahaha.

35130-S04-305 is the OE number for the ignition switch. Not sure about the lock cylinder.

Honda is 98 and up you have to program the key

@@edgardoguillen2827 my 02 civic had a transponder but a family member with a 99 civic EX had a regular key it ended being the ignition assembly not the lock cylinder itself that broke and caused the key to get stuck so I bought an assembly from a local parts store and after chiseling the stupid factory security sheer bolts off I installed proper fasteners in case the new one fails down the road
