If Henson had come back in 2001, we would have played for a national title. We lost three regular season games by less than a touchdown and in all of those games, poor QB play and turnovers were a big factor.

I must say it sure was nice to see some made field goals... along with some great defense

@ThoseWhoStayUofM Wasn't Drew Henson projected to be the No.1 overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft?

It's nice to have the running game back. Under richrod I missed seeing the Biankabatuka's, the Howard's, The Thomas', The Perry's.

I still grit my teeth a little when I see Henson on the field. He comes back the next season, and there's NO WAY we lose to OSU. Oh well.

Man, Thomas, Askew, and Perry all on the same team, and not to mention Walker and Terrell at WR. I was never too high on Henson, but you can see why he played so well with this offense.

@MrDunedon No. They beat up a crappy Navy team. But that was a great day. I went to this game. Had pretty good seats. My dad and I listened to Sparty lose to Wisconsin on the radio just before pregame started.

@NuRm69 Brady was definitely the more polished of the two in '99, but Henson had much more potential. He would have been a top-5 draft pick.

Boy that was a great day in college football -- with Minnesota spanking OSU (talk about a RARE win) and MSU losing to Wiscy. And of course Michigan rolling over IU. Now, if only ND lost that day, too...I wonder if they did? ;-)

@thedynamic35 This defense was young and frustrating. Dominant all season at home but always getting torched on the road. Not 2008-2010 torched, but still bad.

@NuRm69 Henson probably would have been a very good pro quarterback had he not chosen to go play baseball. He was much better than Tom Brady in his limited time as the starter. He had a better arm and he was very mobile.

I miss going to games where the score for the other team is 0. I hope our defense comes out to play this year and beyond that, I hope they have a bunch of help from SPECIAL TEAMS maybe we can find a field goal kicker who is worth more than 3-9 (the only reason he didn't miss more is because we stopped trying them)

@ThoseWhoStayUofM I disagree. I always liked Brady better even when at Michigan. And no, I'm not just saying that because of how their career's ended up, I always felt Brady was the better QB. I never expected him to be a future HOFer, though.

@BluebomberX3 I have no idea... I just know that he was really good and he decided to play baseball instead and it didn't work out well for him.

3:50 Total blown facemask call. Super obvious on a dangerous tackle with the ref standing right there. Jesus.
