❤ Homie As much as I hate to see what I figured was the case. It took me forever to find THIS setup

Man I finally found a video with the same setup...this is major work but I need to do it ...thanks for sharing!

Dude, you've got some mad patience! I am about to change the gasket on mine, but it has the normal style, small adapter plate (thankfully). This looks like an enormous pain in the ass.

My 99 F250 has the same setup. I was hoping the adapter and cooler were 2 separate parts, but I guess not. I need a way to push new oil in the filter side hole to prime my new oil pump and that might be tricky with the vertical filter mount and so much distance after that to the oil pump.

Working on my buddies 01 f-250 plow truck, I have to remove this part just to replace the the dipstick tube, luckily the exhaust manifold is already out, as that’s how this whole mess started out 🤦🏻♂️. Thanks for the info.

I have a 2001 Ford Lightning and started to go through the same process but didn't think about removing the passenger side and the tranny mount bolts. Was ready to give up and send it to a mechanic but this video made me think twice. Gonna give it a shot again and try to follow your steps. On mine I had a low oil warning light and when I popped the hood, my coolant reservoir was black and filled with oil. Truck didn't overheat, wasn't running for that long. Almost all my engine oil was dumped in the coolant reservoir and was starting to overflow with oil/water. Some water did make it into my oil pan but not much. At first I thought it was a head gasket but if it was a head gasket i would have overheated and coolant would have gone into oil pan, not the other way around.

Hey, what did you end up doing? I’m currently going to tackle this, but I’m hesitant
@JP-sc7wn Жыл бұрын
@@juniorr2808 Apologies for the late reply. I followed the tips on the video and they were spot on. With out lifting the engine there is no way to get this done. Few tips that I found on my own which made it easier. 1) Remove the starter, a little tough to get to but not that bad. My passenger side Engine Mount bolt wouldn't come out with the starter in place. 2) Remove the Oil Cooler prior to attempting to remove the oil adapter. 3) Remove the Oil Pressure switch, gives you more room to wiggle that sucker out. 4) Lots of cursing the Ford engineers for this design.

I have a 1997 F150 with the exact same housing that you have. I have leak right now. I am afraid to tackle this because I don't have the patience that you have. And I am afraid to get an estimate on the replacement. Not a good situation for me.

What symptoms were you having to make you replace the gaskets?
@MADORCS2 жыл бұрын
I just did mine on a 2002 Lincoln navigator, its a different cooler, same gasket, didnt have to take the engine mount or anything else off, symptoms for me were a lot of oil in the coolant..... had to flush oil and radiator, oil had some coolant as well, could tell when I first undid the plug for oil change, came out like water at first..... good luck!

In what order are you supposed to tighten the bolts because apparently when I put mine on and filled it up with water it leaked and I tightened every bolt I’m so fucking devastated
@JP-sc7wn Жыл бұрын
Where did it leak from?
@AWSOME67860 Жыл бұрын
@@JP-sc7wn It leaked from the water holes on the block. I had put the wrong gasket I guess there were two sizes and I put the smaller one on
