Quick question, I understand that we need 2 rear calipers, 2 rear caliper brackets, 2 rear backing plates, 2 rear rotors, 8x m10-1.25 x 40 bolts, alongside the usual brake pad mounting hardware. Im just confused about if we I can use the same GT knuckle or if I need to swap to a GTS knuckle because some forums and videos state I need to swap the hand brake cable and the knuckle from the GTS but ur video doesn't require that.

The hand brake cables, and the knuckles ARE GT. Those parts swap over

Immensely helpful video, thank you! I have a GTS, but ended up with some GT replacement knuckles, so this sorts this issue for me perfectly. I'd even argue that the side effect of having 2 cm wider stance is great and much safer than running spacers.

You weighed the brakes, drum vs. disc ? Never seen that done before. Drums times two, then disc divided by two ? 18 pounds per side with new disc. 12 pounds for used drum setup. 6 pounds per side ? Is that relevant ?

Thats why I did it. I want to try and get as much info out there as possible when I do my how-to videos. And to answer your question. Yes, it is relevant. The extra 6 pounds increases the weight of the car. Just giving people something to think about if they are trying to turn their 7th gen Celica into a track car of some kind.

Hello, i concerned about the "lip" 7:50 , for any reason the gts doesn't have it, if the tire is a little out this maybe affect the car aligment or even the brake pads isn't centered, the brake pads wear will not equal, i have also notice the brake hose is forced maybe for the new "lips" distance.

The brake pad will be centered BC it mounts to the backing plate. No alignment issues at all. I'm not sure what you mean by "forced" in regard to the brake line.

Quick question, after i did this. My rear passenger pads are dragging a bit. I reused all the hardware from a celica set onto my matrix xr. Im thinking i should buy a disc hardware kit, to replace the anti rattle clips and the slide pins. Lastly, did you grease any components?

yeah, the hardware I used was new. I ordered the parts from Monkey Wrench Racing. I didnt grease anything. I did put a little bit of anti-seize on the center area of the rotor to help prevent it from rusting 2gether later on.

@@n-putsgarage2875 Awesome Right on. I had a local friend locate a set of the brakes for me and install them. Also went with the MWR braided lines.

The only problem i have had is that the rear disc brakes do not have enough stopping power. Did you change the proportioning valve?

Dude I have a 04 gts snapped the bottom caliper bolt messed up the threads getting the broken piece out can I replace the caliper bracket with out replacing the whole knuckle if so how

If you are talking about the front caliper, then yes you can replace the bracket by itself. It's a simple 2 bolts that bolt the bracket to the hub area. it unbolts the same way the caliper would unbolt, should come off really easy. If it's the rear caliper, you may need to replace the backing plate that holds the caliper in place because there isn't a lot of room to retape the bolt hole
