"I just can't figure out what I did with the one I had in my hand." Man, I think everyone that has worked on mechanical items has had this happen multiple times. That's why most of us have multiple numbers of the same tool because if I can't find the one I was using when working on a machine I don't spend time looking for it. I just go get another one out of the tool cart. The original "lost" one will show up eventually. I just can't waste time looking for the wrench that is no where to be seen but should be "right there".

I have a G8 Yahmaha golf cart and recently rebuilt the top end. It now has a ticking noise on the top end that starts shortly after start up. Reset the valves at 4 thousands. Also can you tell me how the oil delivery tube works? I can't find any explanation of that. Mine is only working when the engine is at a high rpm. Thank you, and love your videos! Keep them coming!

what suggestion do you have for tires for a 6" lifted club car ds , the cart will be run on stone covered roads, also this may be out of your comfort zone, but do you have a suggestion for how to paint a vinyl canopy? thanks

Great video I also have a 1996G16 golf cart but with all the videos I have seen the gas tank and the battery are switched. Gas tank is on the drivers side.. not sure why?

Try to find the serial number. If its a G16, it will be under the seat near the battery. You can google search for Yamaha golf cart serial lookup and it will tell you the year and model. I'm willing to bet its a G14 and not a 16

Its a national auto tools triumph 460. I don't think they make this model anymore. I did get it with the wheel adapters for smaller wheels. This will do down to 4 inch wheels.

Hey Kevin, I was using my g16 gas and all the sudden it stopped running. I pressed on the gas Pedel and it wouldn’t turn over. Motor isn’t locked up. The reverse sound it makes too isn’t doing that anymore. Only thing that works are the lights still.

The lights are usually on a seperate circuit so they will work if the battery is charged. It sounds like the starter/generator brushes are bad or the solenoid failed. Start with the fuse under the control box cover. Use a volt meter to check for 12 volts at the solenoid. It may be clicking when you press the pedal but could have internally failed.

@@Kevinsgolfcarts the solenoid isn’t doing anything. It has 12 voltd going to one side, but it’s not getting power anywhere else. It has a relay instead of a fuse.

There should be a fuse in a weather sealed fuse holder under the cover unless its been bypassed or removed. There should be 12 volts on the small terminals when you press the pedal. The large terminals will have 12 volts on the cable feeding from the battery at all times. If there is no 12 volts on the small terminals when pressing the pedal, the switch under the floor near the pedal may be bad. You will have to pull up the floor mat to gain access to this switch.

I get my carbs from Red Hawk. You have to be a dealer to buy from them. I don't sell parts directly, but Everythingcarts or buggiesunlimited are good sources for parts. There are others out there. Those are the two that come to mind.

All gas golf carts have 2 clutches. The primary, or drive clutch is on the engine. The secondary, or driven clutch is on the transaxle. This is a CVT, or continuously variable transmission.

I've checked the service manual for the proper battery. Club Car and EZGo can use a group 26 or 70 and Yamaha is group 24. Group 26 is a top post, group 70 is a side threaded terminal. I usually use a 26 in both EZGO and Club Car for ease of use.

What do you recommend for a continuous duty solenoid? Cart wont start when running for long periods of time. I have a suspicion that with my cruising and it running so long between actual shutoff that its overheating. Normal golf course riding its fine.

First of all, what kind of cart? Is the engine cranking and not starting or is it not cranking at all? I could be any number of things depending on the year, make and model.

@@Kevinsgolfcarts Pretty sure its the solenoid. And only does it on really hot days and or when the engine is running for long periods of time. I replaced it with a new stock and the issue was slightly better but still present. Let it cool down a few minutes and it takes off again. Just looking for a more robust/continuous duty for constant driving recommendation. Like I said it works fine on the course with regular start and stops regardless of outside temp. The pedal switch is sending the signal to the solenoid but the contactors cant touch back from the heat/expansion. Once it cools they can touch again. And then start/generator start spinning.

You need to check with a volt meter on the solenoid when it shows these symptoms. You're just guessing if you don't check for voltage.

@@Kevinsgolfcarts It all checks out. No main when extremely hot. Wish I had a laser thermometer. Thinking about using one from a lawn mower . The case on those can be metal and they are made to run constantly.

If its a 2 cylinder robin engine, adjust the valves.

Kevin I need help if you can? 1998 G16 gas cart. Runs perfect but once you stop the cart and try to restart the starter turns but engine will not fire. I've cleaned carb, new gas lines and filter. New starter/gen brushes and also tested good. New voltage regulator and tested battery which is good. You can let the cart set 20mins and then it will start and run with no issue. I'm at a loss and watched about every video you've got on g16 carts. Do you have any ideas or I'm willing to send you my phone number and see if you can give me more advice.

Get yourself a spark plug tester or a spare spark plug. When the engine won't start, connect the tester or spare plug to the spark plug wire and crank the engine. If you have weak or no spark, wait for it to cool and retest. If it comes back, the ignition coil may be failing.

@@Kevinsgolfcarts I believe it is the coil but now I'm having trouble finding the right coil for our 1997 G16 golf cart. Would you happen to have the right part number or one I can buy from you. Parts guy said the coil don't adjust but ours has the oblong screw holes to set your gap. So which coil should I buy??
