Links to Amazon for Heater Core and adhesive from video: www.amazon.com... Hi, I was installing a swivel heater core in my 2001 Ram 1500 and found a simple trick to install the heater core without unbolting the heater box.

I tried this and discovered if you cut down 1 1/2 inch on each corner, the plastic is flexible enough that you do not need to break it it off, it will simply bend outward without breaking off, and allow the core to slide down in place. Much easier this way, all you have do is use a sealer like silicone or an epoxy like JB weld for plastic to fill the seam where you cut, and it’s done. Thanks for the tip, it definitely is a time saver and made the job much easier.

You saved my life!!! Thank you for giving us the cutting trick. I did this and got the core in. There was no way it was going to fit without loosening the entire box. You saved me much stress. Thanks again!!

Sir, that is absolutely brilliant. I've watched 30 youtube videos and no one has brought that simple solution up. Thanks so much. :-)

Awesome man! My A/C works, so I really didn't want to mess with evacing it to pull the whole box out.

I put in the Heater Core in by just twisting the pipe and it was my first time. I did cut the old pipe because they didn’t swivel.😮

I’d be MUCH more comfortable using this method than cutting those lines and adding 4 potential leak sources using hose clamps. Thanks for the video. I’ll be replacing mine ASAP. (01’ 2500 Ram)

Aug 2020 and I just bought the headache AKA 99 Dodge Ram 2500 with the V-10 that you did your tutorial/video on. The dash is Toast. My father-in-law's 20 year old Truck. With under 90k on the odometer. I'm in the process of trying to change out the heater core as well. Unfortunately that paper mache dash is a nightmare. Thanks for the video .

Lrb speed makes a sweet dash that attaches straight to the steel frame I'm putting mine in hopefully this weekend. Well worth it for someone who likes to keep fixing.

That’s a good idea, I just looked it up: for that price you must have a nice diesel or mint pickup? Yea, I would definitely get one of my trick was nicer! Lol

That plastic you broke could have been heated up to allow movement like me did heat gun or hairdryer works best then just a quick wiggle and it's in or out :)

I seen people cut the entire side out of the heater core housing and not pull dash. 😮then just glue it back together.

@Big dog 1 B not sure what plastic you are talking about I ended using a oem part and cut the tubes and used heater hose to splice back together been about a year now no leaks
