IF Ford built an Expedition with Lightning modifications, this would be it..although the level of finish of this vehicle are probably way in excess of what would come down the truck line of the time! IF you want to ride in style..with family/friends...then you might consider this one!

Fun fact: SVT wanted to do a version of the Expedition called the Thunder, it was basically the Expedition but with the drivetrain from the lightning. But it didn’t happen

ford had a mule of this running around in 2001. It was called the ford expedition svt thunder it had a all gloss black paint job svt lightining running boards that were modified by the ford mule team to allow all four doors to open. It also had a svt lightning front grille and a lower svt lightning frond bumper and svt lightning headlights and svt fog lights and dual exhaust system and a svt lightning supercharged engine and a dechromed and gloss black painted bumper to match the rest of the paint work and the svt lightnings guage cluster.

Hey, Jack! Heading to the football game in this beauty?? OH, YES! It's even the right colors.. and Kyle Wittingham would be SO proud! GO UTES! (University of Utah) LOL! I'm sure that 5.4 Super Charged power plant, would cut through any traffic on the way to the game! And just look at all those amenities inside! I would say NICE for a tailgate party... but there would be NO EATING inside.. not with that gorgeous interior! I love that red paint! The wheels are perfect for this Lightning Expedition! Running boards.. Is the trim around the wheel wells black?? Or black chrome?? That interior is colorful! Even a video monitor to keep the kiddies entertained when traveling to and fro! Yesseree! Some serious $$$$$ went into this "ride"! Thanks Jack! :D

Hey, Karyn! Cool to know these are the colors of the University of Utah! In my former neck of the woods, it would be Temple University, Philadelphia! I'm sure the "no eating in the truck" would be strictly enforced in this one! I don't recall seeing any nicer interior..it really pops! I'd say the trim around the wheel wells was black chrome...I'm sure the total customization was a "king's ransom"! Thanks! :) Jack

This would actually be called the Thunder Expedition, ford made a Thunder prototype with an Expedition body and Lightning drive train but it never made it to market because it only had a couple years till the newer body style came out. It was sister version of the Lightning, would have been really sweet 👊

Looks nice BUT what about gas mileage, gas in my area is $3.99/gallon and I heard on the news earlier this morning that oil is trading in excess of $105 meaning gas prices go higher. And sooner than later when the gas is gone, does the owner pull this beauty with a couple of horses? The front end of this beast is, IMO, the best looking Ford has created for their truck line.
