The next day during the Vikings/Packers game, they showed footage of the Metrodome staff duct taping and bolting the goalpost back together because they had another college game later that night and didn't have a spare.

Hawks have had such talent at the college level @ rb & wr in the Ferentz era. I understand it's a different game in the pros, but wouldn't you think that at least one of those guys would've blown up as a 5-7th round pick? For starters, Lewis, Mo Brown, or even Solomon from this vid. Russell was more quick than fast & at his size didn't really have a chance.

I was thinking of him. I had to reread my comment. I knew I created a loophole. Lmao. I meant a late round pick that blows up. It happens quite a bit in the NFL. Greene was a very decent NFL back, but I feel his best days were when he was LT's backup.

Maybe. Iowa looked more impressive than Ohio State against the conference, but Ohio State (and Michigan) are the brand name of the Big Ten. We still could have been snubbed as an undefeated team. We win the bowl game, and we pay for Auburn rings. As it was, we got drubbed by So Cal in the Orange Bowl and Carson Palmer defended his Heisman against Brad Banks. Still an incredible season for my alma mater. On Iowa. Go Hawks.

Derek Ruff Also, Iowa had an entire month and a half off and it clearly screwed up the chemistry of that team for the Rose Bowl. Hey not saying Iowa would have beaten USC that day but I believe it would have been a much better game had the Iowa team that went 11-1 through regular season had shown up. I have to say though that the speed of USC that day was just amazing. Made my Hawkeyes look very bad. I’m taking nothing from USC they deserved the win that day.
