Short answer is if u have done filter changes/fluid ever 30k-50k you can keep doing it. but IF YOUR AT 80K PLUS MILEAGE AND NEVER DID IT.. DON'T DON'T DON'T. the grit in the fluid is what is allowing the tranny to still move.. u empty it and put in new fluid .. there will be no grit and no go .. the grit is what has wore away internal parts and the grit is filling the gap enough to keep it moving. 85% i have seen at the garage change there fluid at 100k plus end up putting a tranny in the car within a day or a week or 2..

Big thanks for sharing. This video really did help. I was having an issue relocating the shift cylinder.

Hello friend, I have a 2002 Mazda tribute V6. I think I made of just overfilled my transmission fluid. I started the car and I could hear like a jingle down below and I got to my driveway and it's smoking. Turn the engine off turn it back on and then the engine just cut off. I'm going to take your advice and open that drain and I guess drain a little bit. And save it in case I need to put it back in. Do you think I did permanent damage? (If it is a transmission fluid that I overfilled?)

Sorry I never did play inside the pan on the escape so I don't have any good advice for you.

to get to the connector you have to take the valve body out to gain access

from what i was told its a lifetime filter you dont need to change.. just drain it and refill it... B.S. i think.

Its non existent. I can put one on if u want. But out of the factory there is none. They use magnets and gravity to keep the particles in the bottom of the trans housing

my 04 ford escape struggles to reverse and instead the engine revs high then barley reverses could it need a change or transmission fluid?

if the mileage is close to 150-200,000 miles i would say the tranny is about done. only thing i would say IF it was MY CAR IS, what can it hurt to try a fluid change vs buying another tranny.. hard to really say 100% without driving it but. i wont change a tranny fluid when i buy it used and there over 120,000 miles on it.. (unless the previous owner says they changed it every 30-50,000) 99% of the time u change the fluid and the tranny is dead within a month. i have seen lots at the shop, but people dont listen..

What causes transmission fluid leak? I have a 02 ford escape started to leak once or twice a week.

if i could answer that without looking at it i would play the lottery.. 1 i would say age .. the gaskets are starting to dry out and rot.. what does it have 100,000 to 200,000 or more miles.. lol just wore out..

the ford escape 2006 use fluid filter?
@canudie19784 жыл бұрын
Sorry I don't know about the 2006. The 2002 they say its a lifetime filter built in. Just change fluid and go again.
