The Alfa Romeo 147 GTA is a compact executive car that was introduced in 2002 as a high-performance variant of the 147 model. This vehicle was engineered with a focus on delivering a dynamic driving experience, leveraging a range of advanced technologies to achieve superior performance and handling. The heart of the 147 GTA was a naturally aspirated 3.2-litre V6 engine that featured an all-aluminium construction, double overhead camshafts, and four valves per cylinder. The engine was equipped with an electronic control unit that utilised a Bosch Motronic ME7.3.1 system to optimise fuel injection and ignition timing for maximum power output. The engine produced up to 250hp at 6200rpm and 221lb-ft of torque at 4800rpm, delivering impressive acceleration and top speed capabilities.
This engine was paired with either a six-speed manual, or Selespeed automated manual transmission, which was specifically tuned to deliver precise and responsive shifting, and was equipped with a limited-slip differential to improve traction and handling. The vehicle's suspension system was also carefully designed to provide optimal handling and stability, utilising high-performance components such as MacPherson struts and a multi-link rear setup. Overall, the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA is a prime example of advanced automotive engineering, combining cutting-edge technology with exceptional performance and handling capabilities.
Fitted with a six-speed manual transmission, this example is finished in the beautiful colour scheme of Grey metallic paintwork over a two-tone black and Tan leather interior. One of roughly 4000 Manual examples built in total and one of only about 130 on the UK roads today, it was delivered new to the UK and today is showing just 49,000 Miles from new. It is accompanied by a set of manuals, including its original service manual, as well as two sets of keys. Most recently, the car has received a full service and MOT in May 2024 and the car received over £4,000 of work in 2015, less than 3k miles ago, including Cam Belts, Full Brake Overhaul etc. The car presents in very well-maintained condition throughout and is surely one of the nicest and lowest mileage examples available. The Original Service book shows 7 stamps and is up to date.
Well received by the automotive press and enthusiasts alike, the 147 GTA proved to be an exciting alternative to “youngtimer” hot-hatchbacks of the mid-2000s like the VW Golf R32 or the Mk 1 Ford Focus RS. Low-mileage examples are difficult to find and thanks to this examples six-speed manual gearbox and attractive colour combination, this is an excellent opportunity to purchase a well-preserved UK RHD 147 GTA before they become extremely difficult to find!
