In this Video we share the Journey and Adventures as well as the reliability and versatility of a nearly 2 decade old Pierre Terblanche designed Ducati Multistrada. I had a 2004 model. The magic , was it's lightness. You could ride it well in any weather condition as well. I could never understand the disdain it"s and the 999's styling either. If you could get someone on it they loved it.

I received your reply. I am a former owner of 1964 Srambler,1973 750 Sport, 1976 900 SS, and currently have a 1974 750 GT. All were wonderful bikes to say the least. Your videos are great, by the way. Thanks

I love my 2005 Multistrada 1000DS. It only has 900 original miles on the clock (yes, nine hundred). I wish I had more time to ride but she puts a smile on my face even by staring at her.

How is it that low?? My first ride on the last bike I bought was more miles than that!
@AutobahnVault

@@thedude102878 It was bought new by actor Bruce Willis while on set of a movie (I believe the first Sin City). He rode it roughly 300 miles within the following seven years and then auctioned it off for charity. It was then stored in a museum without ever being ridden until I bought it roughly three years ago. Took it to my local Ducati dealership and they put new tires, timing belt, flushed the brakes, new oil/filter, lubed and checked the chain and she was good to go! Took her on a 250 mile trip last month and rides beautifully.

I love my Mutistrada - I have the 2013 Pikes Peak - it does exactly what it says on the box and is simply stunning in the looks department! It commutes with ease, pop the panniers on and tour for days, and like you mentioned - very capable and fun on the track. I have also enjoyed my on many gravel roads and passes over the years. Just over 43,000 kms on mine and looking forward to the next 40 +

I just bought a 2004 1000DS today. It has a new TPS (throttle position sensor) but needs to be programmed. Called three Stealerships but none could talk or call back. The seller told me they wouldn't give an estimate, would if he dropped it off, and would only do the work if they had carte blanche on other "necessary" maintenance. I'm really stoked though because all I heard from non owners is how ugly it is, and what I'm hearing here from owners is how great it is. I'm the luckiest rider I know though because I know a weekend motorcycle mechanic that loves the sport and has fixed bikes for me that other shops didn't, or were too expensive. I think I'm going to love this bike, and I have a bunch of bikes, although nothing fancy or expensive.

I just bought an old GS 1200 2008 model but being a taller person (1.98m) and even after customizing the saddle, I still find it awkward and uncomfortable, constantly hitting my shins when riding. Can you comment on the comfort for a taller person on the Multistrada
@route21garage
@route21garage 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I hear you as I have a GS too. I am 1,82m and hit my chins occasionally while riding. The Multistrada, new or old, does not have those pods of the boxer engine sticking out, so your chins will be safe and Ducati has a full accessories catalogue with softer seats, higher screens,etc to make it perfect for you. I recommend you test ride one, you’ll love it 💪👌

Nice video, I found this motorcycle really ugly but after a few weeks of looking it up it seems like a really nice an reliable bike. It must be fantastic on mountain roads. Is the clutch hard ? i've read some people saying that it can be quit tiring during long rides.. Cheers from France
@route21garage
@route21garage 3 жыл бұрын
I actually at first also thought it was a super ugly design myself, however I got to ride one in the mountains here and absolutely loved its ride and handling . So I had to have one and loved riding her as a commuter, touring and even around a race track. Clutch is very comfortable for me, riding her in the torque curve, no crazy gearing up and down, very light being air-cooled twin and nimble. Touring (gel seat) is a must as the seat is quite hard for longer trips, but you would love riding one, guaranteed 👍🏻

While the styling is different, I think that with time, it has come into its own. I get complements on my 1000 DS all the time. In many ways, I prefer it to more modern bikes that seem to have confused and busy styling. I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but I have come to think of the 1000 DS as a handsome motorcycle. It is also a bike with a lot of character. I love the snark of the L twin, and the handling is (in my opinion) more like a sports bike than an adventure bike. Riding it always brings a smile to my face.

I had a used 2003 1000ds bought it in 2011 with13k on it and 6 previous owners. I took a chance, worst bike i have ever owned, got rid of it after riding it for only 5000 troubled miles, too many issues to mention. Such a shame, i will never buy another ducati again. I fully understand that lots of owners have had trouble free riding on theirs, not me. **edit** bought from a dealer fully serviced new belts... lost over half of what i paid in just over a year but was happy to see it go.
