Raymond Duke awesome! Yes it’s not difficult just a few bolts. But it looks daunting to someone who has never attempted it. Glad you were able to get it done! Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the great video! Need to do this in a few days. Have a 2004 v6 with 160K that misfires, mostly occurs in the summer heat and specifically when the AC is on. Have had various mechanics work on it over the past few years and none seem to be able to fix the problem. Planning to replace the coil packs and plugs.

Hey mick! You’re welcome. When it comes to these cars make sure to only use genuine motor craft spark plugs and coil packs. Aftermarket will work but they’re known to fail and be unreliable. 👍🏼

hello, I am trying to figure out the correct routing of vacuum hoses. Which one goes on top and bottom, since I don't have a plastic piece on mine, just insulation. I know you said the one that looks like a u turn goes on top but they both look like they are doing a U-turn the only identifier I have is one hose comes from the intake manifold.

Hi, try taking a picture of the hoses you’re referring to and, circle it if needed and send it to our email plz. Can’t guarantee anything, but we can try and help. It’s been years since we’ve worked on this one.

I absolutely was someone zip tied a couple other wires to some of the parts, once I looked closely I was able to do it thank you ! And I never worked on a car before and your vedio was amazing and kept it simple

@@dalepeace9522 thanks for your input. I unbolted all the bolts and my plenum was still stuck tight as hell!! I’m gonna check to see if there are some ghetto zip ties holding it down too now lol 😂.

Hey friend , what is the gap setting for this 2004 Mazda 6 3.0?
@HandsOnDismantler
@HandsOnDismantler Жыл бұрын
For this Particular vehicle and engine the spark plug gap is determined by the brand that you purchase. Depending on the brand the gap ranges anywhere from .040 to .060 if you purchase a particular brand check if it is pre gapped. It will state it on the purchase listing or paperwork that it comes with. Use a sparkplug guage to insure the gap didn’t get damaged during transport. 👍🏼

Could the spark plugs have an effect on acceleration, temperature gauge, alternator light & engine light? I’m trying to figure out why those things are occurring to me & I think it may just be a bad sensor somewhere.
@HandsOnDismantler
@HandsOnDismantler 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bryan, no your issue does not sound like a spark plug issue. Have you gotten the car scanned for the codes?
@Adventthief
@Adventthief 3 жыл бұрын
@@HandsOnDismantler Ah, dang. and yes, my dad used a scanner and multiple things came up like, Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit, OxygenSensor, Engine Coolant Temp Sensor and Intake Air sensor. My dad said some of these dont matter and it's just a sensor on why i have my issues, but i'd rather get someone else's opinion because most of these seem important and i feel like his thoughts could be wrong lol.. thank you for replying btw!

@@HandsOnDismantler Apparently the computer was just badly messed up & I ended up changing it from a new one I got at a junkyard. It works now thankfully, but I’m still currently working on some little issues with the car. Like sometimes the RPM gauge doesn’t want to switch to next gear, it’ll stay on 2 or 3 & the temperature gauge will stay below where it needs to be. I think maybe I have to do something more so the car can recognize things better but I’m not sure. Cars are very complex.. lol. I appreciate you replying though & working with me on this! I’ve been working on my car for months due to having trouble financially with covid going on. Cant really afford a new one, so. It is what it is

@@HandsOnDismantler I own a 2004 Mazda6 S and my car has 126950 miles. Changing the spark plugs take three hours labor and your video does tell me how hard and arduous working on the 3.0 L V6 engine is when there are a lot of components to remove. I have never changed the spark plugs myself, but I keep my car well maintained. The P0301 trouble code came on unexpectedly.
@HandsOnDismantler
@HandsOnDismantler 3 жыл бұрын
@@marlon94124 ok I was confused because the first comment you said it was p3101 which isn’t a code. But p0301 should be misfire on cylinder 1 which could indicate it has a bad spark plug in that cylinder.

@@HandsOnDismantler What about the ignition coil pack?
@HandsOnDismantler
@HandsOnDismantler 3 жыл бұрын
@@marlon94124 yes the coil packs are very common to go out. I would test it for that cylinder but if you’re taking it apart and removing the intake then I would replace the spark plugs anyways. They’re not expensive
