Among many of us, I wanted to thank you for uploading this. This was the only video I was able to follow and fully replace my sparks and coils. Some things I want to mention for anyone new to doing this. Make sure your car isnt still warm when unplugging that coolant line. (or dont have the bellows disconnected before hand) I had the pleasure of getting hot coolant shoot into the air filter soaking it completely. and make sure you dont press too hard on the coil pack clips, I ended up breaking 3 out of the 6. Removing the battery makes this job a lot easier.

1:05 on the other end of that vacuum hose is a fitting that's pressed into the valve cover. The fitting in my GF's 2005 keeps popping out and causing a massive vacuum leak. There's no damage to it, save for the fact that the tabs had been bent in, which I alleviated somewhat by boiling the piece in some water for a half hour, replacing the O-ring and reinstalling. Problem is it STILL doesn't fit snugly enough to keep from popping out. Is there a replacement available for this, or even a good way to secure it?

Thank you for creating this, its a very helpful walk through. Was it the labor that took 3-5 hours or a combination of what to unscrew & remove?

It may only take you about 2 hours to do the job. I've done this job quite a few times now, it only takes me about an hour and a half. Most of what took the time when I filmed it was doing the job combined with the filming. A lot of start and stops and moving camera angles etc.

@@ironsinthefirediy6258 Youve got a subscriber for all that work lol but I have one more question: I just realized the Mazda 6 you worked on was an 07. I have a 2010 (09-12 model) mazda 6 with the 3.7L engine. Do you think the steps will be the same for my model? I have a repair model book but I can't seem to find the directions on removing this part of vehicle

@@Jojoe143 I haven't done any work on a 2010 Mazda 6. It's quite possible its a very similar design only bigger. Take a look at it to see if it looks similar. Although some of the torque settings will probably be different. If you can find a work shop manual, they are really handy. I'll see if I can find out anything and let you know.

Hi Jay, here is a youtube link for a Mazda cx-9 plug change. It's a 3.7 Ltr V6 so probably pretty much the same as your 3.7. Hope this helps you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYG9o52HjpWaa6c

regarding the plug gap, my manual said it is 0.054-0.057 in, 2007 Mazda 6 V6 sports wagon. confused.

It may depend on the type of spark plugs you are using. If you are using NGK Iridiums then I think the proper gap is .044. If you are using an Autolite, Champion or another brand then the gap could be .054 > .057. I would recommend the NGKs only because they have never failed me.

How much do the roughly cost

Hi Karlynn, I buy my NGK iridium spark plugs from Canadian Tire, when they go on sale. A lot cheaper that way. But you can buy them from any auto parts store or even the dealerships will have them but probably more expensive. I recommend NGK iridium plugs. You can get a set of 6 on sale for between $40 to $50. Regular price will be about $85 to $100 Cndn.

You can get the NGK spark plugs at pretty much any auto parts supply store. Eg. Canadian Tire, Partsource, NAPA Auto Parts, Any car dealership etc.
