2004 Polaris Ranger Upgrades

Just going over few upgrades I’ve done to the Ranger.

I have the 2004 ranger 6x6 with full cab with doors, hydrolic dump box, wench, and snow plow blade. Just had the 500cc motor rebilt with bigger cam crank and piston,now it's a 650cc. It ran about 45mph before now 57mph. it;s a beast. will go almost any where. I've had it through swamps in summer and on the lakes ice fishinin the winter. Also put turn brake and 4way flashers for the road. Closest think to a tank !

I love the upgrades. I just happened to come across this video and noticed I actually did almost all of the same things to my 2004 a few years back including a fuse block under the hood. I ended up making a roof on my own with 1/8th inch steel and built in rear work lights. I also welded the roll bar solid and got rid of the rivets because it rattled too much. I also made a jump seat in the bed. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the video. I recently got me a 2004 ranger 500 4x4. I called my local dealer and was told that Polaris didn’t come out with the 500 until 2005. I really appreciate you making these videos. And your right… not a lot of aftermarket parts for them.

I have a thin metal roof screwed on for the summer on my 04. I have a full soft enclosure and zip up doors from Classic for the winter. (On my second enclosure, they last about 3 seasons before I break a zipper etc). I did put a motorcycle horn on it. I never know about the backup light wiring until today. That’s next for me! I want to put some mirrors if I can spin them in for trails. And I want to out a front hitch receiver on it to make it easier to get my big trailer into tight spots. Thanks for the video

This video is exactly what I was looking for. I have an 09 Ranger 6x6 that I am about to put a stereo in. Ironically, I have a pair of TIC brand outdoor patio speakers for it. Never thought about putting up front like that. Probably going to put the stereo overhead to keep it as dry as possible.

I just bought a 04, rear end is getting rebuilt right now, does have speakers in it but no radio, for some reason they must have pulled it out and I’d like to have a radio in it! What did you do for wiring wise to hook it up? Thanks!

Thank you !!!! The tm uses a lawn mower opposed twin style engine and carburetor. If you take carb to a lawn mower shop they can get you the rebuild kit for it.

After markets are avalible I put one on my ranger 6x6.from time to time they are on Ebay.

Interestingly, I have a 2002 4x4 with metal rear and front screens, and roof. I cannot express how heavy it all is. So much so, that I’ve taken it all off and only intend to put back the roof once lights and solar are mounted. I’ve toyed with the idea of cutting the panels above driver and passenger seat to make a Targa layout predominantly to reduce weight. Did you custom make the front tow receiver, and what winch did you opt for?

The front tow receiver is actually a polaris accessory. Part number 2855553

@@montemania198210 Actually both. I have to scream at my wife when the RPMs are almost maxed. I'm looking into a silencer and seat mods that will do this. We are literally sitting above the engine. LOL

I have a 2004 Ranger 6x6 that my daughter crashed into a tree. What kind of options do I have for fixing it. I think the frame may be bent.

if you can find a 4x4 ranger the same year thats scraped buy it for parts cut out what you need and weld in nt good frame parts
