Love this video .. no unnecessary intro or talking .. just quick info . Straight to the point. Love it !! You can always go at a repair blind but watching a video like this always makes me feel like I’ve done it before so it goes much smoother .

This is the best method for an older Odyssey. I tried 3 other video instructions for a 2008, and all ended up asking me to remove the EGR tube to get access from above. On a 16 yr old car, that's the same thing as asking me to replace the EGR tube and associated exhaust parts ($$$) - the rust is just too entrenched. This method took me about 90 minutes start to finish, which is about how long I tried on the first KZbin method I found before abandoning it and looking for another way.

I was able to get the mount out without needing to touch the radiator. Take out the battery, battery tray, and air dam. Needed a bunch of wobble extensions and finesse to get to the bolts, but it's possible (and can feed the socket+extensions from bottom to top too). Took out the rubber block next to the mount and the mounting bracket above the engine mount, as well as some hose/wiring brackets as needed. Mount can come out from the side through the radiator hoses. This approach avoids having to do a coolant fill/bleed.

Would the procedure be same for removing the fans for 2015 Odyssey including the torque? Please advise. Thank you.

@@rpigw on the 2011-2017 this is much easier, the fans still have to come out. Torque specs are slightly different.

You need various wobble extensions to get to it

i notice in your video a dampener is not installed and my 08 did not have one. however at the end when you give the torque specs a dampener is shown in the illustration. Is this part needed to reduce vibration?

I removed it for space when replacing the mount. It is some kind of dampener, bet it makes no difference though lol

@@MrRangerZr1 It's also described as an insulator or heat shield on Honda parts websites, so probably keeps the engine mount cooler and prolongs its life. I doubt the engineers would have put it in for no reason; component costs are highly scrutinized for auto manufacturers.

Nice. Also, for $125, if you are in snowy/salty regions, think about/evaluate replacing radiator before ATF lines blow and pump ATF into radiator.

If I buy VCM Tuner II, I can install 05-07 LX/EX motor mounts? Would you recommend all three for the mileage I have on mine (06exl w/264k miles)? Thank you! p.s. i regret jumping gun with flushing /coolant few weeks ago. Looks like i might need to do it again when installing motor mounts. Rear mount is most difficult to install, correct?

You can but the rear motor mount bracket needs to be changed to the LX/EX bracket. On a lift, the rear mount isn't bad to change.

@@MrRangerZr1 thank you so much! So for the parts for my 06 EXL, I would need to buy 3 lx/ex OEM engine mounts plus the bracket for the rear and it is only going to work if I install vcm tuner/muzzler, correct?

I changed the engine mount in my Honda odyssey 2008.. Now when the van in park or reverse it vibrate a little.. Is that big issue??

MrAlmorisi loosen the motor mount bolts, start the van and shift through the gears, then retighten the bolts.
