On my 2007, there was a fourth bolt on my ECU. Located on the driver's side of the ECU, behind the unit, and on a 45 degree angle facing up and toward the driver's side. Good video. Thanks.

Is there another way to jack up the engine rather than the oil pan? I know you said in another comment that if you do it as shown then it is safe - but what is an alternate way? Thanks,

Hello there hope you doing well I followed all the steps in your video besides one which I think now was important and it was to disconnect the battery Now my car will only click once and died like if the battery was dead I’ll really appreciate if you can help me by telling me if I burned a fuse/relay or something major What do I need to replace? Thank you in advance hope you are doing well

I’m fine thank you Check your ecu connections, unplug and then reconnect. Make sure they are fully seated in.

I am replacing the side mount on my 2011 touring as part of a timing belt replacement and the ID of the new mount is .773" but the OD of the horizontal bolt is just .436". Is there nothing to center the bolt in the center tube of the mount? Is it held just by friction when you tighten the bolt in the aluminum yoke to 40 foot pounds? BTW, my eBay mount is just a tad too wide and the yoke would not go over it so I assume I need to grind a bit off one face of the tube.
@MrRangerZr13 жыл бұрын
Use the OEM mount, I know how the aftermarket mounts are.
@philwarner66043 жыл бұрын
@@MrRangerZr1 I used the flat end of a small grind stone in my drill press to remove material from both ends of the tube so the yoke would just push on and installed them both. I put the rubber block on the L bracket under the head of the horizontal bolt pointing down, but I think my earlier photos show it pointing toward the engine. Which way should this rubber block point and what is its purpose? OK, I see the graphic now which shows the rubber block pointing toward the engine, but it also says to remove the jack from under the engine before tightening the bolts to spec. Is this right?
@MrRangerZr13 жыл бұрын
Just follow whatever I showed in the video. Hand tighten, then drop the jack, then torque.
@philwarner66043 жыл бұрын
@@MrRangerZr1 Thanks for the reply, but it makes me wonder about the purpose of supporting the engine before removing the mount if you are going to remove the support before tightening the replacement. Is the engine actually supported by the front and rear mounts? BTW, does the rubber block on the L bracket have an important purpose? Vibration damper? Or in case the mount fails? It seems to just hang in space.

Ordered VCM muzzler II. Did timing belt, serpentine, water pump, harmonic balancer, and side motor mount over the 4th. Next is valve adjustments and brake hoses. New fuel pump, struts, shocks, rear bearings, sway bar links, PCV, EGR, downstream O2s, plugs, VTEC gasket, and misc. little things already done. Love the van. At 225K (we're 2nd owners) it's great. Surprisingly easy to work on too. Thanks for your content!

Is this also considered the passenger side motor mount? Honda told me the "front motor mount needs to be replaced" & "passenger side motor mount"> I already have your front motor mount removal saved and ready to execute. Wondering about passenger side now. Also, how do I tighten a bolt to spec??
@MrRangerZr12 жыл бұрын
Yes passenger side mount. You use a torque wrench to torque to spec, link in description.

So is it safe to put the jack under the oil pan of the engine??? Or will it crack and not hold the entire weight of the engine?

Question for you.......what does the side mount do exactly? It isn't the active motor mounts for the front bank and rear bank which control engine vibrations and hold the engine in place.......what exactly is this side motor mounts function? Mine is ripped so I am going to buy a new OEM one and replace it. Thx
@MrRangerZr14 жыл бұрын
Actually this mount does a lot, keeps the vibrations down and prevents excessive movement of the engine. You’ll definitely feel the difference once you replace the busted one. This and the other two big mounts are considered the main mounts. The transmission mounts don’t really do much, which is why they rarely go bad.

Hi could you please help me. I have a 2009 honda odyssey EXL. My mounts are gone. I did put on a VCM muzzler now I want to replace mounts because of the vibration. I want to purchase the parts myself then take them to the shop. Can you tell me what mounts I need and where I can purchase. Pictures of the engine and transmission mounts I need would be helpful. Seems like they parts place trying to rip me off. Thanks a lot

To check the motor mount bad the vehicle will be jacked up and insert a large pry bar or put a wood block under the oil pan and jack up the motor there should be no separation in the rubber motor mount
