Great video with the trans mounts. I did OEM motor mounts and that was great. Wondering if my trans mounts are bad. A trans service didn’t take care of a little bit of a jerking in shifting. Wondering if those mounts need replaced. Any way to tell without actually just taking them off? ‘09 with 98,000 miles

That thing is nickle and diming you to death. Time for a new one...LOL. I had perfect luck with Rock Auto up until about 2 months ago. They shipped me a box that was supposed to contain a RF caliper for a Dart, but actually contained a caliper for some kind of AMC. It even had AMC cast into it. I sent that back and got the right one from them. Then, they sent me a motor mount for the same Dart which was made incorrectly. This one I will keep and fix, because I'm not paying anymore shipping to return something that is their fault. I know you can print a shipping label but I don't own a printer and am not going to buy one just for that. From now on I'm going to redirect my business to other suppliers.

Hi Tyler, I got sticker shock looking at new cars a couple of weeks ago! Glad to hear Rock Auto spreads it out evenly😄

@millionmilegarage9587 could you help me out please? I replace the front engine mount but it’s making a noise which stop when I unplug the electrical wires if you know what’s going on please let me know thanks.
@millionmilegarage95872 жыл бұрын
Hard to say, what kind of noise?
@deapokito78422 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to explain too lol it’s like a continuous vibration but when gets unplug the sounds go off I’m going to check the celenoid valve thanks though.
@millionmilegarage9587 Жыл бұрын
@@deapokito7842 It could be a defective mount if all it does is vibrate when the mount is plugged in. The noise you describe could be resonance and it goes away when power is disrupted to mount not allowing the viscous fluid to stiffen. These engines do vibrate hence the big electric motor mounts, when I replaced mine the resonance did change but it did not eliminate all of it. It could also be the mount is in perfect working order while the old broken one actually filtered out resonance at different frequencies masking other issues with engine.
@deapokito7842 Жыл бұрын
You are right it sounds like a resonance but it’s too loud when parking or in neutral, this is my second mount in 4 months, good thing I find your video thanks.

@@deapokito7842 Also, just stating the obvious: check condition of other mounts, the upper ones do go bad too, I have a tired one on upper passenger side, the one in front of the serpentine belt and there is a hidden one under the air box and of course there are the two electric mounts front and rear.

Trust me, even it comes to the engine/transmission mounts it’s best to go with OEM. The 3rd party stuff might or may not work. It’s a toss up if you go the cheap route.

Lol "they do know how to cast rubber there" my thoughts exactly, you may run into a few more defective ones, quality control not as strict... But compare to original and return replace if needed🤷 but that's when to go Amazon over rock auto for sanity sake
