I put a zip tie on the T-Bar to lift it up behind the seat, and using a flashlight through the bolt hole you can line the T-bar up just below the bolt hole and slowly push the seat back. You can feel the bracket lock in place when you have it in the right position, then put the bolt in to verify the seat is locked in place.

Great video - thanks! 1. Universal springs for a wide variety of models and makes in quickstruts means using them you will change the ride of your vehicle from the factory installed springs. For example the springs in a Camry are different than the springs in an Avalon. They are specific. Personally Id avoid quickstruts and pay the man for OEM struts/mounts/insulators. 2. Don't have to pop the rear deck (and remove side panels) to get reclining cables in place. Use a medium stiff wire to guide the 'T' fitting for reclining into the seat back then pull the wire out after the seat is in place. I used floral wire with a 'J' crimp in it to raise the cable as I pushed the seat back. You can see the clip on the seatback engage when the cable fitting clamps on. Its very easy solution rather than pulling the side panels and popping the rear deck. 3. Test the seat recline before bolting the seat back and reinstalling seat bottom; that way if you didnt engage the cable to the seat you dont have to take everything apart again.

Okay so you make it look so easy im currently on hour 4 of fighting the sway bar link and can only imagine how long getting the seat back in is going to take. This definitely isn't a shade tree mechanic type job. I'm probably going to get mine towed to the nearest dealership to have them finish 😢

Are you using an impact on the sway bar nut? If you're unable to get it off you can cut the sway bar link and install a new one.

Just replaced the subwoofer on the deck, left out all the back seat parts and trim. Now this will be even easier. And I’m saving slightly more gas with less weight. Am I insane for not caring at all about interior? I mean I removed everything nicely and store in garage if I ever want to put back for resale. Idk. Let me know

Hey Valley Mobile... thanks for the video. I am in a predicament (please advise). I bought & installed 4 KYB quick strut's at 98K miles. At 109K replaced Frnt. Pass Strut under warranty for squeaking, etc. which fixed the issue. Last winter Drivers Frnt started squeaking but when it got warm, it stopped. Now squeaking all the time with the colder temps. and miles are 153K. KYB only warranties 1 strut at a time (not in pairs) and they will replace just 1 time, so asking you 1) should I just warranty the drivers side now (with 44K miles on the passenger side) or should I warranty the D side and ALSO buy a new Passenger side (since already replaced it 1 time under warranty)? Obviously, industry says to replace them in pairs, but wondering if that is more self serving and also want to save money and do not have a ton of confidence in the KYB considering my experience listed above. At the same time, 2) do you think that if I warranty just 1 will that screw my ride quality (be to lopsided)? 3) what would YOU do? Your fast reply on this matter would be greatly appreciated, because I have to do something very soon!

If you replace one strut it wouldn't be the end of the world. Typically when struts need to be replaced they are old and worn out so replacing them in pairs is recommended. KYB is typically a decent brand but if you are having frequent issues with yours you can always opt for a different brand.

@@ValleyMobileAutomotive before I attempt to replace mine. Which brand would you recommend from a parts store aftermarket replacement on this vehicle?
@ValleyMobileAutomotive
@ValleyMobileAutomotive 8 ай бұрын
@@JF-sv7qo Monroe is typically a good brand. I would stay away from O'Reilly , AutoZone or Advance Auto house brands. While they are cheaper I've had too many issues with them.

Hate to say it but this is one case where I will only use genuine Toyota parts front and back. The Toyota struts will last 100k miles plus. KYB, Monroe and the rest are simply not close in quality. Moreover, with quick struts you are taking a gamble on the springs; they mass produce the quick struts with springs meant to cover a wide variety of vehicles not the OEM specs for your specific model Toyota so you are most likely changing the factor ride of your vehicle. Your experience is an example of it taking a lot more time to work with the quick struts and quality problems multiple times vs. dealing with expensive but reliable genuine Toyota parts from the dealer one time and having top quality performance. I wish you luck but if I were in your position Id give up on the aftermarket parts/quick struts...

Hi do you answer I’ve never done this before I called a mechanic they say job is 3 hours and I’m trying this myself. How long does this job typically take because your videos are short? Can you do longer videos for new people learning to fix there cars? 😊

If this is your first time then three hours sounds about right. I have links in the description for parts and tools used for this job 👍. If you have any questions feel free to post in the comments.
