Really loving this truck. Even more so with the little issues getting fixed. I miss the diesel more than I even knew.

I did this to my 2004 2500hd. I only replaced the column bearing with the same dorman product as you showed in your video. After about 6 months the clunk returned but never as bad as it was to begin with as has never got any worse so it still is a bit noisy however you have to be hitting some fairly big pot holes. But just a heads up you clunk may come back but not as noticeable as factory bearing. Awesome video. I have one up about it as well but you definitely got better angles on it.... thanks for sharing

Would have gone OEM on the bearing if I knew mine was loose but Dorman was the only one I could find local. Shipping on things has slowed down a lot and didn't want my truck sitting for a week. I did feel some slop in the shaft as well. I think I would recommend doing the shaft and the bearing to get the full new feel. You have to do half the shaft job anyway. I will report if mine comes back.

If you have the green bearing on right now you can try this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKu7ZJWkgMR_sMU

@@mzElvie91 that's why I did the second time around replacing both bearing and ISS twice. The ziptie and radiator clamp did the trick for me. Just wish I knew this the first time I replaced it...

How are those Dorman parts holding up

You will have to ask the new owner. I traded this truck in for my 2009.

How many times did you have to keep replacing Dorman parts. Firestone replaced mine next day was still popping/ clanking

This fix worked for as long as I had the truck. I traded it in for my 09 I have now.

Does this help with loose steering??
@mossman3814 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's going to tighten up your steering. That would be in your steering box, pitman arm or tie rod ends.

Would pulling the key and locking the steering wheel keep it from turning?

Not sure the steering locks in this generation truck.

What manufacturer did you use in place of doorman for these parts?
@BenKempa4 жыл бұрын
Aaron Beihl personally I only use GM parts on my truck.

A lot of people hate Dorman but they are priced right and available. I have had good results using Dorman parts. Can't say that about others. If money is no object go ACDelco.
@samsquires28774 жыл бұрын
Ive not had good luck with dorman. Most the time its cheap junk. I use GM every chance I can.
@samsquires28774 жыл бұрын
Aaron Beihl use the OE part manufacturer you can’t ever really go wrong that way.
