This video was perfect!! Took me 5 minutes to complete! Can’t believe Toyota wouldn’t fix this issue for free!

Thank you for sharing the idea. I used it to fix both of my 2005 Sienna front doors and worked like a charm. Fantastic!

Worked perfectly. It took longer to watch the video than it did to do the fix. Thanks!

My 2005 Sienna was doing the same thing. (Weld failed) I bought the riveting tool and it fixed the problem. Thanks

Thanks, I used a 1/8 rivet instead of the larger one that you used. It seems to do the trick. I will let you know if the 1/8 fails after some use. Thanks! Great tip!

I followed the video, on KZbin by Pepe Velasco, and just tightened the 2 nuts that you see there, with a 10mm ratchet and the problem was all gone. That you, Pepe!

Thanks for the video and instructions. Worked like a charm. Didn't have a pop rivet tools so stopped at Harbor Freight and purchased for $4.99. Drilled the hole, riveted and made a comment just like you did!

You guys are brilliant! This fixed the problem I was having with my 04, and the total cost to me was 20 dollars, for the river gun and rivets!

Nice Kabayan, I have the same problem with our 04Sienna. I'll try this weekend.

Wow, looks simple and finally give me a chance to use my riveter. I wish you had included the actual drilling and riveting, though.

Just brought our '05 in yesterday hoping this would be a 30-second fix to put in a new screw. They said $3500 for a new door. Nice. This seems like it'd be a bit easier.

Hey Kabayan. Whatta luck. I just called Toyota this moment because I have the same problem that started 2 days ago. Tried putting oil but to no avail. Toyota told me I will pay $75 for just the Diagnostics if it is not already covered by warranty (which I know is not anymore). I maybe try this then and hoping it will work on my 2005 Toyota Sienna. Thanks for uploading.

Thanks. Need some help to do that drill lolz

How did you drill a hole ? It seems hard to drill because there's not enough space
@papasienna83796 жыл бұрын
What R D said earlier, it would've been better if I used an angled head drill attachment so the hole is straight and true. I was able to drill a hole with what I used at the expense of a poor angle. It must be the reason why my rivet didn't last long and why re-riveting won't work in the same hole.
@bendirval36125 жыл бұрын
@@papasienna8379 Wait, your rivet solution didn't last? That seems like important information.

Thank you for the video. How about two rivets side by side?

Hey Great idea! How has the rivet held up since you installed. Is it still holding the door check in place?
@papasienna83796 жыл бұрын
It held up for almost a year. I attempted to pop one in the same hole but it wouldn't hold. I might drill another hole to rivet it when I get the time.
@duncanmacleod78187 жыл бұрын
Can you explain exactly what to do after you drill the hole and what tools are needed, I hear "ribbon " don't really understand, please help,thank you.
@papasienna83797 жыл бұрын
Roque A Salazar you need a rivet tool to push the rivets flush into the hole you drilled. This will attach the inside and outside sheets/plates together to keep them from giving you the popping/slapping noise.
@bendirval36125 жыл бұрын
@@papasienna8379 So there are two sheets of metal you have to drill through? And it should be done when the door is completely open?
@MooncrawlingRocks7 жыл бұрын
I'm considering this. The popping sound is driving me nuts. Question: when you drill the hole, do you drill it through the loose plate too? Or just the outside metal?
@papasienna83797 жыл бұрын
MooncrawlingRocks drilled thru the loose plate so the rivet can mate them together
@RD-dp6vk6 жыл бұрын
Pop riveting is a good idea, but there is no way in hell be drilled the hole with that drill. That drill is way too big to fit between the door and dashboard. You need an angle head drill.
@MrAllmaniac5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can but you have to drill the hole at an angle and use a 3/16 x 1/2 " rivet !
