I have a 2007 Corsa D 1.3cdti 75hp. Almost at 150.000km in 2021. Wonderful (not so) little car. Really impressed with it's reliability, fuel economy and general build quality. Also still like the design. After all these years, still looks like a modern car. I would recommend it.

I have one of these. Grand little car. Bare bones, reliable enough for my liking and fine in around the city. Motorway driving definitely isnt something it likes. I mean really, its a cheap car but for what you get its good value imo Good review!

VW polo with 200 tax is crap, my 2011 Excite is £30 a year, timing chain! Smooth as a butter, superb suspension. I used to own Golf plus 1.4 and that was terrible! Rubbish mpg, slow as slug, so don't know why people saying crap about MK3 Corsas it's a great car.

Thanks for the review of the Polo and the Fiesta. Conclusion: both might be better...

Air con on but the fan wasn't blowing. ;) I used to have one of these but a 3 door 1.2 Active D which I bought new in 2009 and chopped it in last month (after 92,000 miles) for a 2017 Corsa E 1.4 SRi VX Line. The weight of the car is too much for a 1.2L engine, so would never recommend getting a 1.2 (you really have to hammer the engine to get up the gears on slip roads, with say a relatively full load and the air con on etc) but would recommend a 1.4L upwards which are very quick. In fact Vauxhall don't do the E in a 1.2L, only a 1.4 up. You'd have to get a Viva or Adam to get the 1.1 or 1.2 engines.

They did do the E with the 1.2 In ltd edition, when they first came out.

Been in the Motor Trade Professionally for over 40 years, I do not touch these or go anywhere near them, I know that is a bit controversial but over the years all they have ever done is give me problems, Yes they are super popular with young drivers, but there in lies much of the problem, they are rarely looked after and we lost count of the amount of timing chain and Head Gasket issues with engines misfiring and devoid of any oil or waterl ! .... bits are always broken off, panels scraped and they are again rarely hand washed, polished, or looked after properly, ask any garage worth its salt and they will agree, they are simply a problem waiting to happen, BUT .... that still won't stop people buying them and I get that, but for me Vauxhalls in general = trouble, I've had less problems with Alfa's and that's saying something !

Only Corsa worth having has always been the Corsa B gsi.

I don't want to knock working class people owning this car, it does work as a cheap way to get around, but most will be better off in an older and cheaper VAG polo / ibiza / fabia if I'm honest.

VW s and Ford's creak after 50.000miles too -why pick on Corsa - at least its cheaper second hand.Had a nearly new polo on hire on holidays once and gear lever came loose on motorway so much for VW quality!!
@mz4ever123 Жыл бұрын
These cars are too prone to head gasket failure. Same engine used in Astra H & Corsa D both gone after 70,000 miles. Better to go for Japanese.

I don't think they are bad cars just not appealing at all. There's my other cars I would rather buy

They're not bad cars, but there is also nothing exceptional / exciting / special about them. I found driving this round it didn't feel as good as an older polo.

1.2 engine is gutless seats rock hard driving position far too high steering wheel far too high , after driving for an hour right leg/ knee hurt, glad dont have one any more the 1.2 LTD EDITION , they do have problems with coil pack and suspension, reliability is good , anybody that says they are good to drive obviously has not driven many cars

Iv owned 50 cars over 27 years, and now own a 2014 ltd edition. Love it, the looks and specifications of a vxr but not the running costs. 52.3 mpg currently. Best of 57.6 mpg. £70 vpower lasts for over 500 miles.👍

Are used ones ( say 10 plus years worth ) ..say something used by 1 person with 150km mileage...I know Honda last for life ..lol 😂 but not sure of opel
@alexhickey56332 жыл бұрын
I'll tell you what happened to my one. I owned it for 2 years, brought it up to 155k km. The timing chain and head gasket went about 6 months apart. I put 2 coil packs into it, the original opel one stopped working, the second (spurious) one i put in lasted maybe a few months. Threw a genuine opel one into it and that worked fine til i sold it. Chances are, when you buy a corsa with this mileage on it, itll have a lot of the problems weaned out if it. Faults ive seen on other corsas are the timing chain, oil pickup pipe blocking, head gasket, lambda sensor, catalytic converter blocking and various knocks coming from the engine itself. Mine used to sound like a diesel when it was cold but that went away when it warmed up. Never had electrical problems with it. What can i say, it always got me home. One thing I'll add is always keep a jug of oil in the boot. For some unknown reason to me, these just burn oil for no reason and randomly stop doing it. Hope this helps
