2007 Entourage owner, Thank you so much for this ,I watched another video about a loose piece and couldn't find anything but you showing how far out silver button should be out saved me a dealership bill I could do without. The broken piece was jammed in the assembly but I took the button apart and it fell out. My key comes out fine now. The internet and people like you are awesome, Thanks Again!

My button won't go all way in so I can't get it in or out of park. Thanks for showing, I think I'll be able to fix my orib doing this. Thanx for sharing

In mine, the internal spring was broken. A $4 (misc sizes) compression spring from Home Depot fixed it. The button is now much better, and the spring is significantly stronger than the original.

Hi. Is there a video on replacing the spring? Lubing it didn't fix my problem either.
@lanetaylor39003 жыл бұрын
@@darkfiresnake21 I didn't think to record it when I was taking it apart. If you are careful disassembling and watch how the parts are in there, it is pretty straighforward to assemble with a new spring.

@@lanetaylor3900 the spring is under that white angled plastic piece? (I'm hesitant to just take it apart as I need my vehicle lol)
@lanetaylor39003 жыл бұрын
@@darkfiresnake21 Hi, spring runs horizontal in the housing of the handle. Once you take the screws off and disassemble it, it's easy to see (there were also some broken bits of plastic in mine). I am crazy busy lately, but if I can, probably this weekend, I can post a short video showing how it comes apart.

I want to know the name of they little yellow part that helps to do the shift. I need to order one
@flywelder2 жыл бұрын
Hello, I don't know the actual name or the part number for that particular piece, it is just a linkage part, and plunges up and down, so maybe using the word s, plunger, transmission selector parts, plastic shift linkage when you call or visit a KIA dealership's 'parts counter'. Also describe where the part is located. They can look up diagrams on their computers and then tell you the actual name. Depending on the dealership and parts manager, they may even do all that for you over the phone. That is how I would actually go about finding the part. I wish I could be more specific and actually tell you the name and part number, but I don't have a service manual for the vehicle to refer to. I wish you luck in your quest!

@@e.dbogan6266 hi, so, these are metric. And as I can determine, they are a number 10 and the thread pitch I am going to say is 0.8 it might be 0.75 but I lean more towards it is 0.8 . I hope to post some pictures, I hope will help. These are very short screws and there's two of them, they're both identical, and they go in the back of the handle, To hold it to the shifter shaft. I hope that's the screws you're talking about I hope this helps. If It does, and you haven't already, I would appreciate you clicking on the like button and ringing the bell. I'd really appreciate that. I hope this helps you a lot and thanks for asking!

What if the white is down and the screw is out
@flywelder Жыл бұрын
mmm ? if you are referring to the white part that travels up and down inside the shifter's handle, then you may have a cable or spring 'hanging up', it is caught on something inside its protective sleeve, try spraying some muti-purpose lubricant {not WD40} into the opening where the white plastic part travels up and down. You may need to get under the car or remove the plastic cover beneath the shifter handle, yes that large piece of plastic shrouding, and then you can see the solenoid and switch that the cable attaches to and see if that is caught up on anything. or maybe the cable and area beneath the white thing, needs some lubricant. so, give the cable and any cable 'joints' /pivot areas you spot, a 'quick' spray of muti-purpose lubricant. Remember to shake the can well prior to spraying the contents! try and spray the lubricate into the 'tube' the cable travels through., Don't waste the lubricant on the outside of the cable's sheathing., because lubricating the 'sheathing' will be of no benefit. it may be that the spring that lifts the little white part up, has broken? if so, that is a different scenario, and more involved than we can discuss here. The problem could be something else entirely. I wish I could say for certain what the solution is but that is impossible over the internet, would have to be right there physically, and that is impossible. As for the screws, my suggestion would be to go to a hardware store, like Ace or True value, because the selection of small screws will be much better, than at a big box store. remember they need to be metric thread screws! I believe I posted a picture of the screws below in answer to someone else, hope that and this info helps you! and good luck on this repair, keeps us updated.

Ours is stuck in auto stick
@flywelder Жыл бұрын
Hi, if you're referring to auto shift, which I will consider meaning stuck in 'D'. Then I predict you would have to follow my instructions, and you may need to go under the vehicle, find the shift linkage, and discover where it is perhaps binding. The linkage that is activated release a 'stop' built into the shift linkage, usually including use of an electric solenoid. Or the shift cable is binding somewhere on the transmission body. I wish I could say for certain where, and what the problem is, was. I don't think it should be a difficult repair once the trouble is located. I wish you much success! if I think of another solution, I will post it to you.
