At the Honda dealer they will say that filter is a non maintenance item. But it's a filter so sooner or later the it will reach its capacity so better to change it imo.

Another tool you can get is various sized rubber plugs. When I did this not much comes out of either hose in the first place and the one side that had some coming out I just plugged it. Never liked the approach of clamping a hose to close it. Regular pliers gently twisting hose almost always breaks free a hose from a nipple but that tool you show is cool. You should have ran new ATF fluid through since you had hose disconnected anyway. Start up car drain 1 quart in bucket turn off fill repeat. Easy Peasy. Thanks for posting!

Today is May 8th, feels like temperature is over 100. It's about 95 degrees and 95% humidity. South is nice for winter but May thru mid October it's nearly 100 everyday, and even when it's only 95 its feels like temp is over 100. Just taking the trash out you almost need a shower from the sweat walking 50 feet lol

Thank you so much for posting the part number! It is nearly impossible to find on the Honda parts website because they put it under the section with the radiator/coolant system, I guess because it is closer to that than the actual transmission. Basically impossible to find without the part number - even the guys at my local Honda dealer couldn't find it!

It's actually accessible through the radiator drain opening. I personally hate trying to take all the fragile, brittle plastic buttons off.

Comprehensive. I do this at the same time as a fluid replacement while the fluid is draining. Also check fluid levels after this!

Do you normally change the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles or every 3 years, and when you change the transmission fluid, do you also change the transmission fluid filter (Honda 25430-PLR-003) at the same time? Thanks!

Yes, I change the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles. The filter can be changed every 30,000, but should still be good if you did it every 60,000. Mine was purchase used and I didn’t know if it had ever been changed so it was changed after over 100,000 miles. If you purchased yours used, I would recommend changing the filter the first time you change the fluid. Also, if you experience any transmission problems or burning smells definitely change the filter.

I have a 2010 Accord . Just got trans fluid changed at 140k miles. About 70k without one I was told by Eagle Transmission that it would cost $179 to change out or clean the filter. Wtf? I can't believe that

Congratulations.do you use transmission oil additive for the transmission.my car sounds "smack" when I take P to R at first start in the morning, but what could be the reason why it does not come in the next replacement.. should i use additives

I haven’t needed any additive but you may want to have a transmission mechanic give you some advice. The first thing you could do is check your level and make sure you have the right amount of fluid in your transmission.
