I did this, disconnected battery, plugged in cluster, connected battery. Turned key forward and the screen worked. Started the vehicle and it blew again. Screen went black and I can smell it burnt something. Any idea why this would happen?

what burns out these mosfets? i put one in mine and it only lasted a couple hours and then the display went dim again. im guessing i burned out again. is it possible i got a bad mosfet.
